Ns 1.04 Steam Install And Fixes And Server

<div class="IPBDescription">many thanks to wireplay.co.uk</div> I have just made a steam compatible install of ns 1.04.
This was rather tricky to do as there are quite a few bugs with ns 1.04 and steam.
Firstly installing it = major pain. Then you have to patch a number of sprite files and sort out problems with fmod.dll. Plus a number of other config settings and things like the missing background
But, i have fixed all this and made it into a convenient .zip file
Before you install you must read the readme.txt (located in half-life) folder as it containts 2 versions of fmod.dll
This is so very important as you have other mods which use a newer version fmod.dll you will need to run a .bat file to switch between fmod.dll (this isn't important unless you play other mods like svencoop)

Please note, if you have ns 2.0 installed on steam you must rename this to something like ns_backup
Never played 1.04 well you are in luck, the original 1.0 manual <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/manual/index.html' target='_blank'>is still available</a>

To celebrate 1.04 my ns 3.0 server will be closed friday night (UK) and for the whole weekend run NS 1.04 at 195.149.21.203:27015

We played a round on old old hera and it was fantastic to look at.

also, its very hard to get used to the old lerk flight, as the new one did.
