<div class="IPBDescription">higher poly</div> The latest installment in teh high poly pack. I think it came out ok overall, its a tiny bit beefier than the default but i personally prefer that. Any C&C would be appreciated before the meshing etc. which will probably be started soon by cookie (<3). Problems with the model that i can see (and will try and fix):
-too high poly
-the handle sucks.
-smoothing is quite poor at the moment, i havnt spent enough time on that yet though
-too many small details(?) that arent needed
-and anything that you guys can think of <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I'll optimize it tomorow, hopefully bringing the polycount 5 or so hundred below what it is, but i may have to wait until after animation (if it gets that far) until i do that...

nah, its around 2200 :\, thats why i need to optimise it. If i get rid of most of the detail or take more polys from the right side (as in the default) it should be alot lower
just wondering why would you want a pistol thats less polies than a rifle, if it runs fine with the rifle won't it run the same with the pistol?
why not go for high poly pistol, like if 2200 is good for rifle wats it matter if pistol is also 2200?

btw, i vote leave the polys, if theres some optimizing you can do that would leave unnoticable changes then ok, they should be fixed, but i agree with mr socks

I'd actually use the default pistol again. And no, 2200 isn't too high. I shall use the vast power of illogic to justify high poly counts: QuakeIV has lots of polies. Half-life engine is based on Quake. QuakeIV has "Quake" in the name. Therefore polies are good. So are waffles.

This looks almost EXACTLY like the origional concept... and it looks vaguely similar to a pistol concept based on the origional I did a while ago (it was for the high poly pack that uh, went down the toilet)

But this, if this gets done with some great anims, I may consider dropping my SOCOM of laser blinding dewm with hammer <ocking anims for it. Maybeh. Really really hard to chooooose...... Always liked the original concept of the HG, reminded me of the Unreal Tournament pistol.

The pistol's looking as good as the lmg...
