*starts humming "I Feel Safe In NYC"*
hehe, where would I move? closer to a train station I currently live in what New Yorkers concider the middle of no where, aka I am at one end of a bus line (Q15), and the other end is the end of the 7 line (aka, the second most useless train in the world).
Correction, Iwould move into Manhattan. God I hate Queens.
Inorder to get from one point in queens to another (via MTA) I need to take a bus and 2 trains (going through 2 other buroghs to do so).
Coombine that with the bus I need to take to get home stops running at 1:30 am, thus no staying out late with friends ;(

Lived 15 years in serbia and montenegro (the country which usa bombed in year 2k) and then moved to austria (also year 2k). I moved from a tiny village where i had 2 big houses with great environment into a capital city with a tiny apartment.
I still have those houses and i go there for vacation, it just rox. I like to have my peace and freedom, which i unlikely in a city. Under freedom i understand taking my music equipment outside in a warm summer night and play some heavy metal, YEEEHA!

I wouldn't say it's geek motherland. At least, not in this part of town. South an west sides are pretty run-down, Downtown has no nightlife unless you're into getting sloshed and not much else, Short-north is one of the best homosexual communities in the US, and isn't much fun to be around after-hours unless you swing that way, as I understand it.
Basically, you have to make your own fun around here.

I've been in Madison a couple months now and I love it. It's a beautiful city and perfectly sized for someone like me who grew up in a small town of about 13,000 just south of Lincoln, NE. Size here is right between Lincoln and Omaha - Madison itself is smaller than Lincoln, but with the surrounding communities the 'metro' area compares to Omaha. Sales tax is a little cheaper here, which is always nice, and the summer weather is much more mild than the often 100 degree heat, 9000% humidity found in NE, and I think I'll be able to handle the colder winters fine after a rough practice winter in NE this last year.
And there's that Raven thing here, too... I like that.
If I moved, though, It'd be either to somewhere in Texas or back to Lincoln. I miss many things about Lincoln, particularly school (only because of being in the drumline at the U. of Nebraska, heh), and while I don't like all details of Texas, if I ever go to another company I'd rather avoid the west coast (nice place, but just not my thing) and aside of there, it seems most studios hover around the Dallas area.
