Knight online isnt good, trust me and maveric. I was addicted to it, even payed from July till August. All it involves is killing, levleing up and pvp. pvp sounds fun at high levels, it isnt. you run around with about 60 humans and see maybe a maximum of 10 orcs a day. Then you outnumber them in equipment, level and skills so they just /town and port to a differnet place. You gotta pay for it and it lags horrendus. Like a 64 player server run by a 56k, with all the clients using 56k.

Not had a chance to give a really good shot but Outpost seems to be a good giggle. The whole modern-day army setting is a refreshing change from the usual fair and the training grounds excercises were neat. It's a lil rough around the edges but the characters look ok and overall for the couple of minutes I played it, it was actually kinda amusing. Just remember that 'b' is change fire mode because the pistol is weeeeeak against the enemies outside of the base (dunno if pistols can go semi-auto but you can try) and 'e' is one of the 2 buttons you can use to change stance (I think 'q' is the other one but don't quote me on that; the controls are on the page somewhere). If you put your weap away 'f' is salute ^^
Just be warned that once you make a char you can't delete them until they're at least a day old so choose your hair/face wisely =3
I went Talon because I like their camo though all 3 are pretty similar I hear and I'm remaking tonight because I didn't like my hair so if anyone jumps on tell me what your side is lol.

If you actually read what I wrote, you'd notice the "If" bit. If it doesn't change at all, then its not really MMO IMO. I have little doubt that it will change in some way, as noted by my further post about raid-style content, which would make it MMO.

Survival project is fun for a while but it gets kinda samey fast. The quests you can do coop together are fun and I guess PvP is ok but the characters don't quite feel balanced (the low stamina on the elf is a major handicap... she might be fast but she hits for tiny damage and runs out of pep regularly. You can sorta get over it with a lot of strategy and stuff but it's easier just to take the angel or mage and pound living heck out of everything XD )
Like I said than, I've not had much time to play outpost so I was only giving my initial impression of it... training was cool though. I'm gonna run around it tonight for a bit just to see if it's boring like you say =3
I'll honestly admit the free MMOs tend to be poop, even the beta ones but some can be fun for a little while... biosfear/savage eden/laghaim was actually kinda fun until the novelty wore off so you can get a bit of fun out of that with some friends for maybe a month at most. Ragnarok Online is fun for some time too, if you RP a lot it's got good staying power but to be honest most games get boring over time anyways, especially MMOs. The real question is will you enjoy it at all and if so then for how long? =3
edit: ok than you're right lol. The combat is all silly; the whole thing with damage over distance is a nice idea but it just means pistol users end up wading into the spawn points and capping everything in the face, not to mention the spawning in the game for badguys is horrific; they just pop up in the spawning areas o.O If you try and take the baddies out from a distance you don't get hit almost at all but the damage drop-off is huge! You can kill them in 2 shots close up but it takes like 2 clips from far away XD
I think I'll write it off as something that might've been a good idea if it'd been better executed ^^;
hmm, cant seem to sign up for survival project, it won't send me the validation email.
I used to play PrisonTale, that game was really fun. Pikemen were so kick ****. I had some really incredible stuff.
I had a Mage too, was my first character. They were cool too, but Pikeman owned all. I have a screen shot of a bug that happened to me, pretty funny. I was on my way to one of the waypoint like things from D2 (forgot what they were called in PT) in a place called Ruinen, and as I walked up the platform I glitched and fell through the floor.
MU Online. Avoid. It's very hard to level up after about level 10 onwards. Very boring to grind low-level monsters due to your weakness. Very boring. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Avoid Gunbound also,it's now buggy. As is Maple. Koreans make good games,they just **** up at some point. (*cough patches overload*)
Try www.roseon.com for ROSE Online. While accessing a server is hard due to there being only 3 servers,it's worth playing cos it's 100% free,a full 3d MMORPG with good hack n slash cutsey graphics,plus apparent massive PvP guild action. (haven't got far enough to that yet,due to.....)
Or just buy World of Warcraft,get a gamecard and join the rest of us.
Runescape is very good,however it's very complex and mining + smithing is boring,BUT THEN YOU COULD ALWAYS BUY THE ORE EH MR.CRITIC! One to try.

There's a lot of others I can think of off the top of my head but I'd rather not recommend most of them as they range from things that'll make you click uninstall before you even finish naming your character to things with great presentation that let you down when you get to the shell of a game ^^;

Oh and outpost is currently in free beta, but you'll need a e-games account to play (also free though so no biggy )

Fun? That game is crap. One quest which you have to wait until lv 150 to do and no purpose to the game execpt running around and killing random stuff.

that looks neat, is it any good? it doesn't seem to be mmo?
nothing to seperate it from your normal hack n slash 'mmo'
the entire point is pvp, and pvp is just not fun (as the people with other chars/friends with lots of $$ win), as per usual
I also head its going p2p soon

it's kinda like Gauntlet with Korean animation... the game works in rounds basically, and you can only do a round with up to I think 8 people, but the world is persistant in that you save your xp and gold and you get stronger, and there can be hundreds of people in the chat rooms...
it got overrun by hackers I think late last year so I stopped playing.... everyone made themselves like invincible, gave themselves billions in xp and money, etc... I figure they must have fixed that by now...
If the gameplay of Guild Wars doesn't change from the E3 beta, then I personally wouldn't consider Guild Wars a MMO. There was nothing 'massive' about it.

You make my brain hurt!
That was an alpha. Not a beta. Alpha alpha alpha! They weren't testing gameplay; it was a stress test/hype thing of sorts. ALPHA! Don't judge the gameplay!

Alpha, beta. Its all the same. Somantics
If you actually read what I wrote, you'd notice the "If" bit. If it doesn't change at all, then its not really MMO IMO. I have little doubt that it will change in some way, as noted by my further post about raid-style content, which would make it MMO.
Ragnarok Online?
The combat is all silly; the whole thing with damage over distance is a nice idea but it just means pistol users end up wading into the spawn points and capping everything in the face, not to mention the spawning in the game for badguys is horrific; they just pop up in the spawning areas o.O
If you try and take the baddies out from a distance you don't get hit almost at all but the damage drop-off is huge! You can kill them in 2 shots close up but it takes like 2 clips from far away XD
I think I'll write it off as something that might've been a good idea if it'd been better executed ^^;

RUNESCAPE!
Ewwww...
Any new MMO's out there coming up Jem? You should run a monthly update on the MMO's out there since you seem to be the most informed...
Or are you guys to hung up on WOW
I had a Mage too, was my first character. They were cool too, but Pikeman owned all. I have a screen shot of a bug that happened to me, pretty funny. I was on my way to one of the waypoint like things from D2 (forgot what they were called in PT) in a place called Ruinen, and as I walked up the platform I glitched and fell through the floor.

Second one's a wallpaper of a Pikeman.
Ah... nostalgia.
One to try.
for those of you who wants to play lineage2 with out the fee....
I do know that Auto Assault are taking on closed-beta testers but that was mentioned in another thread already
There's a lot of others I can think of off the top of my head but I'd rather not recommend most of them as they range from things that'll make you click uninstall before you even finish naming your character to things with great presentation that let you down when you get to the shell of a game ^^;
Another game my brother found.
