Babblers just looked like skulks. They kind of bounced around staring at the ground and would attack a marine within range. As for the laser mines it was just the current mines with res lasers coming out of the center of them. Crashing servers with mine spam was hilarious back in the day. Personally I miss the old 5 minute jp rushes to comp core when you were trying to keep skulks out of that stupid bottlenecked eclipse spawn area until the armory upgraded.
