900mhz. It really depends on your CD drive and HD.
Or in my case...my HD.

I DO NOT MOUNT CD'S.
That installation time was really a guesstimate, and I installed Ut2004 when it was brand new and haven't had to reinstall it. But I know it wasn't much longer than 15 or 20 minutes.

Just going to make sure I start preloading the last bits of it the second HL2 is released (Midnight most likely). So then I don't have to deal with all the people who will do the same the next day, which will be the majority.
I would be buying it retail irrelevent of anything else, but due to the fact that my ISP really sucks now, I won't be able to activate it online until this summer, and thus I had to choose only buying it retail

Not because I think Valve's no-publisher ambitions are evil, not because I have major issues with Steam, but simply because I love the box. I love the artwork, the manual, even the art on the CD, I just love having a tangible copy of it. Perhaps some of this love is a little exagerrated, but I still don't want to see the death of retail copies of games just so I can always have the precious box.

Also, being in Asia, you can get any electronics for at least 10 bucks less. ahhh... asia.
Box, as I still have my Amazon preorder from nearly 2 years ago waiting to be dispatched and don't have a credit card to activate through steam anyway.
Plus honestly, how many of you believe that steam will actually function with half a brain on HL2 release day
I'm buying retail since I don't have a credit card, but I'm activating through STEAM since I live in germany. I don't want to play a german version of the game, since 1) I hate playing games in other languages than english and 2) there would probably be robots or something to shoot and not Combine. That's also why I don't buy alot of games. I wish there would be a store where I could buy games in their original language here .
wait, hold up, you can buy it retail and then use steam anyway? You just use the CD-Key to download it? If that's the case I have a reason to preload now; my cd drives are borked haha.
Steam will be functioning just fine on release day. As long as you preloaded the full game onto your computer, there will be nothing more to do than process your order. Muahahaha.

This way if I have a new computer without access internet, I can still play it.
And who wanna download it everytime ya wanna install on a new comp.
Also gets me into CS:S...

Thank you Captain Coil!

Kidding.. Box though
I can't see anything that states you have to have one or the other... so I'm testing my luck.
(No poll option for this! Humbuggery!)
