On Metroid Prime
The game's genre has also been confirmed to be "first-person adventure", signifying that the full game should feature a full, robust single-player adventure akin to the console Metroid Prime titles.
IF Metroid Prime Hunters contains a single player story mode, akin to Metroid Prime or any other previous Metroid game. It is an INSTANT buy for me.
Dear god, everytime I get some tiny insignificant tidbit about the DS I'm incredibly happy. Just thinking about the possibilities of this thing...
Can someone say Mario/Wario Party DS? This would be the PERFECT game to utilise both the touch screen AND wireless aspects of the DS.
Thankfully I'm only spending 90 bucks on DVDs in November, so I will be buying a crapton of launch titles.

dead sexy, I want one fast
although i must admit it does look cool, but so did the gameboy advancedSP tribal edition...
EDIT: i didn't read the whole story but wow that adds so much more, sketching and msging, a mobile phone is used for messaging, and you have a pencil and paper for sketching.. [SARCASIM] oh joy i'm so excited[/SARCASIM]
Except much much much more powerful, and stylish, and it actually makes sense!! Not to mention way cheaper. Ngage sucks, please please don't make the DS look bad by making that horrible comparision.

...the point is that you can take it practically anywhere, and you don't need a monitor/tv, plus a power outlet to hook it up.
For example, say you and 3 of your best friends are riding on a plane. Your tickets didn't sit you beside each other, so all 4 of you whip out the DS and play Metroid Hunters via wireless access.

The PS3 is like the PS2 or whatever, i dont see the point in wasting money on it when you can just buy perfectly good and BETTER games for your PC, XBOX or PS2.
Welcome to console marketing, a new system every other year.
FAKE EDIT: You have fun with your little PSP then.
are you joking $150 thats ridulous you might aswell stick with your old gameboy and boy a 20-30 dollar game thats addictive and fun

ARE YOU KIDDING?
They're releasing a BRAND NEW system for $150. With inbuilt software, a demo of Metroid Prime Hunters and what is shaping up to be an incredibly strong launch list.
And you call it expensive?
@_0
EDIT: The DS has an inbuilt battery pack. You just recharge it via an adaptor.
besides you get a demo.. you'll have to buy an actually proper game which is in retail about $40 as it is a new system, of which might be alot worse then you thought making a waste of money, that could of been spent on drinks or games, or shoes or whatever you would prefer to spend it on
So what you're saying is.... don't buy a new console... just buy games for your existing console...
That's some zen crap going on there @_0
Don't understand the don't buy a new console logic, I mean I don't see people playing NES instead of PS2 and gamecube.
EDIT: actually Dr.D i still play me SNES from time to time you cant beat the RPG's they had back then.. although my plugs knackered for my snes you have to bend the wire in a dodgey angle and seelo-tape it there if you want it to work but when you get it working thats some good times right there
Gameboy came out the same time as NES system did and they are still making games for it.
That should tell you something about the longivity of handhelds.
edit: I agree FF6 owns
About £85, actually.

or ds games?
$150 is very, very cheap for a new system, especially compared to the psp.
EDIT: what is a psp is it that stupid mini ps2 thing?
.... Except not made by Nokia for God's sake. I mean, how the hell do the two even compare. Nintendo is on this one. Meaning that even if the 3rd party developers don't deliver, which they don't always, Nintendo still will. Since when did Nokia make good games... or were you playing the N-Gage with your eyes closed.
I didn't expect you to be so closed minded as to compare anything to that N-Gage garbage. They may have the same functions, but the company behind them determines everything.
Ok, so the PSP is an advanced Game Gear, and the DS is an advanced NGage with more games. Woopdee-friggin-doo. Everyone knows there's only one good game ever made for a handheld, and of course I mean Tetris.
And maybe FF Adventure, the best FF game (despite the fact it wasn't technically an FF game)

The company may determine whether or not the system will survive, but it certainly doesn't determine if the system is any good, or anything new. The DS is certainly nothing new, and it isn't looking especially good either. Just because NGage had no games, doesn't mean it was a bad system, that's like saying Dreamcast was a bad system, or Sega Master System, or Sega Saturn.

How does the ds compare to the Ngage? The DS is from Nintendo, who have a great track record. The Ngage was from Nokia, who have yet to make a decent game.
tetris is not a good graphic excellent gameplay game, but it is addictive, therefore it will keep you entertained

Nintendo are, which is why the DS is going to be so much better than the Ngage.
They compare because they are the exact same concept. A handheld that's main selling point besides the gaming aspect is wireless.

The company may not determine how good the system is, however; the games that are on it do. Few people would buy a console that they have high amounts of doubt as to whether they will want any of the games on it. Or do you plan on buying a Phantom? And besides, Nintendo is the god of innovation. If they add special functions like wireless play and touch screen, they would only do so because they have at least 5 great ways to use it up their sleeve. If that wasn't the case, the gamecube would have been a walking talking media center +$100 to the cost just like Xbox and PS2. But they saw no use in that stuff and knew they had no way to innovate with it.
NGage may have had some of these functions, but Nokia didn't know how to use them or take advantage of them.

Statistics show that 99.9% of handheld gaming (or any other type of gaming device), in fact, did not have a stylus-screen feature, two separate screens with two separate processors to control each, wireless link play, and backwards compatability.

I thought the main selling point after the amazing line-up of games were the multi-screen and stylus setup.
no 1: the games that are on a system are more often than not determined by the company that makes the system (ie, Sega gets screwed over, Nintendo gets classics, Sony gets everything else), so the brand has a lot to do with sucess.
and no 2 (hehehe): I'm not talking about the games here, I'm talking about the system itself. Take one look at it. "What? A handheld that is based around wireless? You mean an NGage, oh no wait, Nintendo DS", and it's not as if any over the other "innovations" are gonna be so great. Oh boy! Two screens! Because pressing the START button to get to my map screen was FAR too much work, and everyone knows that all the best games involve styluses.

so there are 1000 different handhelds? And none of them use styluses eh? So you've never heard of any sort of PALM or Pocket PC? And honestly, most games I have seen for those platforms do not use the stylus.
The Ngage isn't bad because it has no games. It has games, the problem is that it has no games worth playing, has a portrait style screen (Which is crap for games) and is just poorly built in general (ogm Battery go out for game!11).
You can't compare the Ngage to the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast had good games. Not just good, but awesome games. Jet Set Radio, PSO and soul calibur all made the DC a solid console while it was around..
As for how the Ngage compares to the DS... I don't see how you can make that comparison.
The Ngage is a gorified Cell phone that probably should have never been made.
The DS, like all of Nintendos systems is a game system first, with no extra bull.
The NGage has its horrible screen thats only good for tetris and Bejeweled.. and generally nothing that would make use of the 3D graphics the ngage can support..
The DS has two wide screens. Wide screens have always just been better than tall ones. I mean, just one widescreen (The GBA) would own a tall screen.. No matter what that tall screen could show on it.. it just wouldn't work.
The DS is made by Nintendo. Nintendo hasn't made too many (if any) bad games lately
The Ngage is made by nokia. Nokia... doesn't make games.
The DS has the support on Nintendo and gameboy fanboys
The NGage has the support of Nokia, who alienated and insulted every gameboy owner there is.
The NGage was launched as an expensive peice of carp that had a selection of launch titles which everyone got bored of playing like 2 years previous to the launch.
The DS will launch with games made by nintendo. Nintendo doesn't make bad games. Enough said.
The Ngage features a screen ripped off one of Nokias cellphones, bluetooth, an mp3 player they removed from in the first revision, a awkward cellphone, and awkward game pad, general awkwardness and the ability to play poorly made games, or old games no one liked in their first version anyways. The Ngage will also kill you, because Nokia is a big, soulless corperation and just wants you DEAD and has no love for anyone except leeches. They love leeches.
The DS features two wide screens, blue tooth, wifi, touch screen, a microphone, built in picto chat(?), GBA Emulation, a more or less tried and true button layout (short of the power and start select buttons its fairly similar to the SNES controller, somes packaged with a Metriod Demo (<3 samus) and lots of other cool goodies because Nintendo loves all the little boys and girls.
EDIT: no offence of course just you know, you can talk about the prduct really well and "convince" (via mind control) them to buy **** objects such as the DS or Ngage
Please note: I never said NGage was a good system.
