I'd like to find out the price of each of those packages mentioned in that other thread. You know, the bronze package, the silver package, and the gold package stuff.
I betcha you can still get HL1:source and DOD: Source without the silver package perfectly legally. Theres no way they'd charge for a mod. I remember reading they'd always have a free version too. So who knows. Im getting bronze basically because if the packages are a marketting ploy I can avoid it, and if its not I can always upgrade

Surely it has to as "Vampires : The Masquerade" is being developed on the Source engine?

The new VTM game is actually being held up by Half-Life 2. I believe that somewhere in the agreement of them licensing the engine from Valve it states that Half-Life 2 must be the first game released showcasing the Source technology.
Pointless info ftw!

What a load of bollocks. I was so looking forward to playing the new Vampires game, mainly because I have a small secret obsession with vampires

Maybe i phrased it wrong, the new VTM "could" be held up by HL2. There's every chance that it's not complete either, but if it were complete, a release couldn't happen before HL2.
Between those two, we'll never
get our half life two.

Nice one.
And god, can't wait for Half Life 2... But Vampire is supposed to come out the twelveth of october, according to PCG.
Not if you've been pre-loading...

It's more likely that VTM is probably pushing the engine more to what it could do and Valve have just "played it safe," so to speak. Come on, look at what's possible with the Half-Life engine (Nightwatch ) and then look at what the original Half-Life looks like.

Well, keep in mind Half-Life was released 1998, and it's now 2004 - in 6 years the computers have been upgraded quite a bit. I think if we had the same computers as we have now back in 98, Half-Life would've looked different.

Or we would have just had the source engine quicker with better technology. So we may not even have HL
Unreleased good looking games with some good quality developers?
Yeah I thought that too. Nightwatch for remake on source engine ... you heard the idea from me first.
