I don't know, the only time that lag has ever almost killed me was trying to down a bunch of potions. Other than that the compensation seemed fine for me. I just pay attention to when everything freezes and head for cover and I'll always be fine...

I got bored and donated everything I wasn't wearing to JHunz, so he has a lot of bling now. 170k+. Unless he already used it up on scrolls and potions, heh.
um, there is no "lag compensation" - hits are all client-side. so unless your computer lags, which = you dead, it doesn't matter if you have 1000 ping.
which, ironically, mean that this game should accrue a whole bumper crop of hax0rz anytime now.
but wheee, youll notice that monster deaths are server side, they wont die untill after the lag. this means it is impossible for someone to hack free exp by killing a roomfull of monsters at once. but since the standing still, ten health regen thing does work during lagspikes, then it is clientside, and can be hacked potentially to go all the darn time.
actually zel, it's only the floating 10 that's clientside... your hp won't actually go up without the server's say so. Watch your hp during and after resting in a lagspike =3
As for money you'll have plenty as long as you stick to easy stuff... if you try to take on the hard things you'll level slower and generally be short of cash =o

I'm taking my mage to cleric myself. I think I saw Gem the other day in the Henesys fields when I was on a mad levelling run. Assuming that your mage is called "Gemma"

And for the people just starting, I'd really suggest going mage... it's more fun than any other class. (There's a reason why ~50% of the players are mages...)
I have lost so much enjoyment from the game as soon as the mana cost for energy bolt doubles, now I have to spend ages waiting for mana or loads of money on pots <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
well, the same power gain as always. level 11 bolt does almost piddly more damage than level 10. i have a problem with the way this game scales, but it's okay. now that i have a mage (boo! hiss!), all the frustration has kind of evaporated away, replaced by hours of monotonous grinding. p.s. lvl 21, \o/
