Sadly I have yet to be satisfied with this model myself as to the poor quality of details and scuffs and such. That's a result in this being my first model. Being a NS player myself I felt that since the Halo 1 Rifle was such a poor excuse of a model to even slightly show off the greatness of Halo, I have decided to take it upon myself to make a Halo 2 Rifle.
It's currently going through a retexturing through my friends Fireworks but I'd still like some help on the model itself.
I need an animator to fix my bloody animations because when I saved my Halo 2 Rifle model (file was a v_aug model) to my lmg using HLMV, the animations got all re-arranged (draw animation looks like fire1 and reload became draw etc etc.)
I also need someone who is experienced with making models very detailed. I can provide all the concept pictures you'll need from a player holding it (all these pictures will be taken off of Halo 2) and actual pictures of the gun on different angles.
I obviously can't do this on my own so I'm asking for help from the guys who are interested in bringing this idea to life.

You kno, even a reskin with photoshop would be great, I would do it...if I had it...I did what I did so far with milkshape, hlmv, and ms pain :-/, shows you how low budget I am (btw the milkshape is the trail version)

I suggest reading the <a href='http://www.dosfx.com/tutorials/csgirl/default.asp' target='_blank'>CS Girl</a> tutorial to learn the basics of modelling in Milkshape. Modelling a player isn't the same as modelling a gun, but it covers a lot of the basics, like building a model from reference pics, meshing, skinning, and compiling models.
You might want to check out the Paint Shop Pro trial version as well, for creating skins. It's a lot more powerful than MS paint <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Thanks for the tips, there are many more updates yet to come (p and w models and a new scope lense) For a suitable player model I suggest you go to www.thrill2kill.com and get the halo model thats apparantly straight out of the xbox. It looks ok but im seeing if someone will fix its small glitches (hands, pelvis, butt, top and back of head, the back)
Go download The Gimp (<a href='http://www.gimp.org/' target='_blank'>gimp.org</a>, completely free image manipulation program) and compress them as jpeg's with about 75% quality, that should make even full screenshots under 100k.

Told you they sucked, I plan on fixing them next but I'm having issues so as of now I'm asking for help. Yes I've done the tutorials and crap but I just need some help from someone experienced that can just give me small tips. I'd like it if someone who wants this to go on to just help me out. Yes it is left handed for now but I'd like to make a seperate model to make it right handed but I currently dont know how to do that. Someone up for it? Shouldn't be too hard.
The in-game look isn't that great since this is only the beta but I shall get you an in-game pic
And yes there are animations, just MSN me or PM me and I will give you the .smd
If you dont know what that is I'll just give you the model and you can view them on hlmv.

I will force my friend that has fireworks to smooth out the edges to my rifle
I will continue to improve the detail on it (scruffs/marks like it would be in Halo 2)
I will also include that player model IF I get permission from the creator.
That player model is alsome btw, there's just some problems.

Why a silver color!? GREEN IS THE WAY TO GO!!!
If anyone can re-skin this I'll include it in the Halo 2 Rifle release when I'm satisfied with it.

Oh and is there anyone out there that can make some hands/arms for this for the Halo lovers to have an authentic feel like non other while playing NS?
I'm having a problem though. I have a custom muzzleflash (green muzzleflash) and when I shoot the muzzleflahs is so freaking huge I can't even see 1/4 of my damn screen. Anyone wanna give ma few tips here?
BecauseI was given the X-Box mesh and skin to assign to the NS skeleton.
The basic Halo skin is that silver one. The game engine just makes it green.
