no, thats not a flashlight.. i see it more as a work light..when you have to work on panels, repairing stuff , maybe it helps to reload your weapon in complete darkness... all stuff you have to operate with your hands. this lamp is not very strong, and lights just down to the floor.
I'm still set in think that is a flashlight. It is a very practical location for one too. The only shoulder mounted tool on the marines was a laser, as seen in the original concept drawings, and I seriously doubt the TSA logo on the forehead is a flashlight, it's obviously not handheld or weapon mounted...and once again, right there in the chest is a very practical location for the flashlight.
*edit* Take a look at the original models and concept drawings, that spot on the armor looks like it points in more of a forward direction than it does on your model too, which kind of helps to back up my thoughts that it is a flashlight.
makes a little more sense to me to have the headphones more fluid from the back of the helmrt to the headphones...
on the back of the helmet, we have scale-like armour, where it layers ontop of the edge of another.
if you think about it, the first layer does nothing, why not have the 'lip' from that peice also be the support for the headphones, it would make them more fluid.
you can also think about how a more fluid design might be achived if you tied the first and second topmost ridges together... here's my junk photoshop h4x...

i dont play paintball... running around with a "gun" (gun is a funny therm for a device that is originally designed to mark cows) that looks ugly as hell ,firing around with balls filled with color, because your foe needs a proof that he got hit.... i dunno..thats not my thing.. RAM´S are cool ..but regular paintball equipment just scares me.
i play airsoft its very popular here ,common known as "survival game" ..almost nobody says airsoft here. play in a team sponsored by tokyo marui and other companys (thats kinda my second job next to my work i do at marui itself <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) ,we perform cqb tactics demonstrations on bigger events ,promotion tours, or just play against or together with other teams at contests. we have our own training and event hall converted from an old factory building that we call "warehouse".
but now back to topic
Lt.Gravity... i fear i cant send you a leg so you can "undetail it" the model itself contains lots of seperate parts, and those parts need to welded first. the legs for example.. there are the protectors, those have intact backfaces, the pants, the boots , the legs of nancy are modeled too ..i mean..it would be really better to remodel all from scratch. it would be possible if i remove all stuff that is below that parts, weld the vertices, so the model is "hollow" but this is lots of work, and messes up the structure of it for sure
bullet head: those "socks" are a additional knife protection (similar to the protective wear of kenbishika research, just more advanced) and protection against other things that are sharp and could cut through the legs of her pants.
so... no ingame model... never... *makes unhappy face* legprotectors? that reminds me on this under-gloves that are used when you are working with really sharp objects.

What's Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines stand for? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
nurbs isn't a program <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> it's a way method of modeling. Nurbs **** me off I have to be honest. polygons are much more versatile IMO.
foot fetish? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

eh, I'll admit, a hot girl with cute feet > a hot girl with fugly feet... 0o, dun want BigFoot-Et as a girlfrend XD
but no, that's not the point. I HATE knee high socks of ANY kind... they're so... so... FUGLY for lack of a better term. But when a lot of ppl do feet, they make em look... stupid... and if you're goign to have a model of the gal in her underknickers, you need to have her barefoot (cause honestly, if yer gonna run around in your boxers guys, do you where socks? Girls, do you where socks when in bed in yer panties and bra? Or whatever ya where to bed? 0o I didn't think so)
In short, if yer gonna add the nipples to the breasts, add the feet to the legs <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
THEN this model shall be my personal replacement for Alyx in Half Life 2 <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Oh, and the underwear only version pleae ... can you imagine the realism? IN HL2, when Alyx walks, her breast bounce, her body moves up and down with the walking motion... and she's in a battle getup! Can you imagine THIS babe walkin??? 0o
It's nearly 2 am... so if I sound like a sex crazed teenager... it's cause at this time in the morning my "lower" brain has more control than my "cranial" brain... 0o
BWAHAHAHAHAHA XD
back on topic: sheena if you would be interested in having this nice work as ingame model, you could send me a little piece of the mesh, a hand or a leg would be enough (no insane filesizes!!!) so I can test if my "undetailing with no work"-procedure works. Im not shure but it would be worth or try I guess.
edit: took a look, filetype doesnt matter but the neutral the better <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
NURBS I think. Could be completely wrong though.

Hahahahaha! That was awesome! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
According to the screenshots, she must be using Cinema 4D XL.
or does She have very, very longs thighs? ^o) <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Because when she bend over they are just at the right place ? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Terrific work man.
i use cinema 4d, maya for irix
i use box and polymodelling too..but for organic shapes are nurbs better. i can convert them to a poly structure if i want...
ok..now it gets offtopic..
i dont play paintball... running around with a "gun" (gun is a funny therm for a device that is originally designed to mark cows) that looks ugly as hell ,firing around with balls filled with color, because your foe needs a proof that he got hit.... i dunno..thats not my thing.. RAM´S are cool ..but regular paintball equipment just scares me.
i play airsoft
its very popular here ,common known as "survival game" ..almost nobody says airsoft here.
play in a team sponsored by tokyo marui and other companys (thats kinda my second job next to my work i do at marui itself <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) ,we perform cqb tactics demonstrations on bigger events ,promotion tours, or just play against or together with other teams at contests.
we have our own training and event hall converted from an old factory building that we call "warehouse".
but now back to topic
Lt.Gravity... i fear i cant send you a leg so you can "undetail it" the model itself contains lots of seperate parts, and those parts need to welded first. the legs for example.. there are the protectors, those have intact backfaces, the pants, the boots , the legs of nancy are modeled too ..i mean..it would be really better to remodel all from scratch. it would be possible if i remove all stuff that is below that parts, weld the vertices, so the model is "hollow" but this is lots of work, and messes up the structure of it for sure
bullet head: those "socks" are a additional knife protection (similar to the protective wear of kenbishika research, just more advanced) and protection against other things that are sharp and could cut through the legs of her pants.
legprotectors? that reminds me on this under-gloves that are used when you are working with really sharp objects.
offtopic: I like airsoft, too but in our country the laws are very strict so there is nearly no chance for this kind of hobby <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

on the other hand ,
real weapons are strictly forbidden here..you cant even have a licence for one...
Not bad - maybe add in an imprint of the TSA logo?

I would trust that more detail is coming. Oh, like, enough detail to ensure the earphones alone would take a few hours to render on my poor old PC :)
People like Sheena are reassuring when I start to get depressed about the competence level of people in the world. Forceful reminders that some people are very good at what they do helps me tolerate the ones I would otherwise be tempted to injure (education has its rewards and its pitfalls). So yes, this thread perked my day up a bit -- very nice model, I see why you get paid.
