HL was the best game ever. A graphically redone port with physics is awesome!
Heck, they could've just given you the gravity gun and added random junk to the HL levels and I'd be happy, but no. Guess I'll have to wait for the 3rd party port.
silver isnt ONLY DoD:S and HL:S
it also gives you the "back catalogue" which includes
HL1 and mods therof

I think they had their hands full with Half-Life 2, somehow.
That 3D skybox is quite decent, I didn't think Valve would go even that far in porting HL1. I'll have to download it soon.
It looks like it was rushed.. :\
-Dynamic lighting on v_models
-Blood effects are now particle-based
-Uses HL2 decals for blood and bulletholes
-Ragdoll deaths for all characters
-Source water effects
-Pixel shaders for textures (they look glossy)
-Source glass effects for most windows
-Same detail texture on everything make it look worse
-Miscellaneous sounds from HL2 (wooden crates, ammo pickups, etc.)
-Steam and smoke are now particle-based
-Uses HL2 explosions
-AA and AF can be set in Options
-Level select w/ all unlocked by default
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I don't think it's worth going through again, but I might load up my favorite level (Surface Tension) from time to time. I'll wait for an unofficial port.

Except the list of changes is, well, not extensive nor impressive.
Where's the models being redone, where's the redone maps, where's the better quality music or sounds, sorry, but selling people a half-arsed product isn't that great a thing to do.

You won't notice anything from a screenshot. We're being serious when we say it wasn't much of a port(or maybe <i>too</i> direct a port). The maps and all the models are exactly as they were 6 years ago, as far as I can tell.

While i agree with your logic, yes, more time on HL2 is definately a good thing, you have to realise they are charging money for something and failing to deliver here.
