Anyways... it's really kind of unfair to NSA that this thread has become about Lunixmonster. The reason I am making such a big "deal" about it is because I was trying my hardest to be a team player and follow all the rules and see if i would still be banned. Even if it was for 1 hour, what makes me think that I wont get wronglfully banned again when I join the server, there were plenty of others doing worse things then me(constnatly going to the hive and sitting right out side of it) while I went around the map and capped rts and built phase gates, but I got banned because an admin was watching me for 2 rounds trying to find a reason to ban me, why would you sit there and try and find a reason to ban someone just because they have a good score.
Not really, I just know what I can expect from the LM community.

Being banned for 'skill' is probably a pretty common thing.
Because with skill comes an ego. With an ego comes the 'holier-then-thou' attitude where you think you can do anything because you're just the best person on earth. This 'ego' is fairly common in the NS clans, and has been since the vet program (which actually perpetuated it. "<i>I</i> get an icon, and you don't. <i>I'm</i> just BETTER then you all, you stupid idiot noobs.").
Most bans for 'skill' had nothing to do with skill.
It's just simply no coincidence that most highly skilled players are loudmouth, obnoxious idiots. It's no coincidence that these players that are some of the best have ZERO social tact and behave like they've never talked to another human being before (which may be more true then they're willing to let on). It's no coincidence that most of the blowhard 'skilled' players think they have a <b>right</b> to play on any server they want, that everyone <b>else</b> should be PRIVLEDGED to play with them, and that since they're just the hottest **** to hit the server, they should be allowed to do ANYTHING.
Sorry, I recognize a lot of these names - most all of them were complete jackasses, and most broke the server rules and ignored the admins because 'LOL IT R NOT CAL STANDERDS'.
And all of them came to the forums to **** that they got banned, and lie about the real reason.

ANYWAYS... This topic still isn't technically ABOUT LM.
As soon as I joined the LM server I started getting harrased for being part of NSLearn. Talesin repeatedly insulted FireWater, me, and our efforts for trying to help out new players in the community. To him we were just a cheap ripoff of NSguides, where the only reason for the creation of NSLearn was for FireWater to get back at the guides (and yes he said somethign similar to that). After getting repeatedly insulted by talesin and telling him what NSLearn was about he finally asks me to remove my tag. I ask him why? were only trying to help the community.

Most bans for 'skill' had nothing to do with skill. It's just simply no coincidence that most of the highly skilled people have zero social tact, are loudmouth, outspoken idiots who don't know when to shut their mouth. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
If someone who is much better than you at building houses walks past while you are trying to build your house and says "I suggest you do it this way instead, or the roof will collapse as soon as it starts to snow", would you not be grateful and accept their suggestion? Would you say that people like him/her are "loudmouth, outspoken idiots who don't know when to shut their mouth"? If you do, perhaps it is YOU who should think your behaviour through.
Being banned for 'skill' is probably a pretty common thing. Because with skill comes an ego. With an ego comes a 'holier-then-thou' attitude where you think you can do anything because you're just the hottest, slickest **** on the server.

I edited my post to include more pwn, but your example is ridiculous. Your average 'banned for skill' whiner, using your analogy, walks by, puts a chair down, and spends the next week taunting you, throwing **** at you, and mocking you, then comes to the forums and pretends he told you how to fix the roof so it won't collapse.
EDIT: Sometimes after doing this, he gets all his friends to come by and laugh and taunt you, while breaking your tools as well.

Firewater was banned for repeaditively swearing and flaming out comunity members over voice com. I understand it is frustrating to lose a game on a pub when you are pro level, and sometimes the **** just flies that way, but other players manage to keep thier language in check, why can't you?
to be fair, I would respond a lot differently if our pro roofbuilder came and said "hey, you are doing that wrong... you should be yadayadayada..." then if he came along and said "YOU flipping MORON, I HAVE NEVER SEEN A ROOF BUILD SO CRAPPY IN MY ENTIRE flipping LIFE. I'M A PRO ROOFBUILDER AND THAT IS THE ********* ROOF I HAVE EVER SEEN. GODDAMN, I CAN'T EVEN WATCH YOU BUILD ROOFS, YOU SUCK SO flipping MUCH. ARG, flipping BUILD YOUR **** ROOF, I HOPE IT COLLAPSES ON YOU AND YOU DIE!". Wouldn't you?
Obviously this "jack-****" thing can happen on both sides of the fence. I bet you realise that as well, and like to think that not all pub players behave as bad as Poofle and Swiftspear. Well I think so too, and I'm pretty sure that there are alot of "clan players" out there who are not that way either.
Now can we stop with these flipping generalisations please?

The hypocracy is bleeding out of his eyes so bad he couldn't even see it.
LM is an elitist community. I don't know why people don't see that.
atleast the competitive community admits we have some bad apples.
You might as well give it up, LM's here to stay, and your going to stay banned.
Some people need that sense of urgency to quickly defend their community from eBashing.
I've never seen a better example of said urgency than this thread.
I'm glad I give you and your community a sense of importance.
Why would I want to be unbanned? I only went there to warm up =/
Also if you can answer my question as to what LM does for the competitive communtiy that would be GREAT! Thanks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Ya, the vast majority of them aren't currently banned from Lunixmonster either.
and most of the compeditive players who are banned for asshatery on lunixmonster aren't really all that bad most of the time, many of them have just felt the need to push the limits and test the legendary admin prowess of the pinguin server. Rest assured, there are admins around, and they catch asshatery.
ANYWAYS... This topic still isn't technically ABOUT LM.
BANNED
Pretty much nothing. We are a skilled pub, and that is it. A few LM players come up to the compeditive skill level from playing in the high skill pub scene. But they rarely ammount to much more than just a good pubber unless they bite the bullet and start puging and clan gaming.
Sorry, not every server's purpouse is apeasing the clan comunity.
