<div class="IPBDescription">What do you use?</div>Now that I've been in my apartment for nine months I felt its time to clean my bathroom, because its starting (okay, has been for awhile) to look a little nasty. In particular, the shower. I have 'hard water' or so I'm told (did not take a pregnancy-like test, so I cannot verify) and there is some black crap growing on in between the tiles. I need to remove said black crap.

The scrubbing bubbles, don't. Didn't do crap to the problem. I need "OH GOD I'M MELTING ITS ON MY SKIN GET IT OFF OH **** MY ARM" strength cleaner.

So, to those of you whom clean your bathroom facilities, what all do you use?

hard water is the worst.... I suggest step 1) sprinkle comit over the *damp* icky surfaces. Let said comit sit for several hours (the longer the better) - then use hot water and scrub it off. until all the comit is gone and hopefully it is clean. If the stain is still there use some CLR - that kinda works but it's no miracle like the comercials make it out to be.

    Good Luck

I've cleaned the toilet and sink a few times before, yes. However, I'm a very clean person anyway so my only problems outside of the bathroom are dust. :P

Yeah, I realized that I was coming from the standpoint of a family of eight with two bathrooms, only one containing a shower. Things get dirty faster than in a single guy's house.

I suggest you use bleach on your tiles to get rid of the black stuff. Dilute the bleach in a spray bottle with lots of water. Spray the tiles and let them soak for a bit. They should wipe off really easily.

For Bacterium removal the TSA Janitors recommend Extra Strength Nanites.

Or you could ask Bob for some work tips.

Once you DO get the bathroom clean, every one in a while just give it a once-over with a mix of water, vinegar and garlic. The proportions for water to vinegar ought to be 3 to 1. 2 to 1 if you need something stronger. Chop garlic cloves in half and add them to the mixture, then shake it a bit and allow it to sit until the smell of the garlic overwhelms the smell of the vinegar. (Add more garlic if it isn't strong enough.)

This is a great cleaner. Garlic is antibacterial and antiviral, so it makes a pretty good addition to this cleaner. I've been using it for a while now and it works quite well, it ends up costing less than commercial cleaners (Around here, three litres of vinegar costs $2. Mix that with nine litres of water and two bulbs of garlic (About 50 cents for the garlic) and you've got quite a bit of cleaner.) and you don't have to deal with any chemicals that might damage your floor.

A lady came into the shop and asked for Cilit Bang. We almost had her thrown out for vulgarity.

Despite CillitBang being the worst name ever for dyslexic's to say...and hell people without too. I know I read it that way the first time I saw it.

Anyway, this stuff is amazing, I got it to clean my bathroom when I was moving out of my apartment and it made it look brand new and I barely had to scrub at all. If you can find this stuff get it. Use it. Trust me.
