and enough about the damn batch compiler. the only thing it "helps" you with are the commands with its idiot checkboxes. it uses the same tools that hammer does. zhlt 3.2.1

since i know most of the commands for the compile tools, i dont need reminders. the batch compiler is for idiots that dont know what the compiler options are. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Marine Start got extended? No, you're just stupid.

Calling people idiots because they use a superior compiling method is retarded. Not only is Batch simpler and easier to use, it uses quite a bit less of you're computer's resources. You can easily look around the internet or do other things while compiling.

As for the choke point thingy that Olmy pointed out here is a picture, it's not as bad as he made it out to be. PLEASE note, this picture is NOT gamma corrected, it's brighter and looks a whole lot better in game.

Personally I dont ever wanna see you post oin this topic again GB, I give you a chance before. and you just insist on annoying people. Don't feed the troll Moconnor, I mean look at the point of arguement <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> . It's pointless and futile... Isn't every internet arguement the same?

I forsee it now, GiGaBiTe is going to be mad and post something insulting once more. Then someone else is going to post something useless and it will go on and on and on... This vicious circle has to stop somewhere don't you think, even more so since it's so troublesome and boring actually... Especcially since insults are now starting to emerge.
And don't go on posting things like '<i>Well he started it</i>' since then we would go into childish behavior <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

So back on topic!!! Is there a download to this latest version of the map?

No download yet, Kouji. The map is compiling as we speak, (BuildVisLeafs: 1350 / 6159) and I'm going to contact Zunni about getting the map playtested and stuff, and if he gives the go ahead <i>then</i> I'll release a download to the map.

    Edit: MakeScales: 20,000 / 120,000

This thread has been going on since February, and to be honest, this whole thing is getting a bit embarressing.

Don't any of you consider that this is a mapping forum and not a bitching contest before you post? I'm just waiting for this map to be finished, and no, I really don't mind what compiler is used to do it. What I do care about is that this thread stays true to the topic that it was started for, which was to practice creativity.

If I was the original creator of Fenris, I'd be pretty annoyed that a honest remake is turning into a mickey mouse operation of flaming.

Put your differences aside, we're all here because we share the same interest:
    mapping for Natural Selection

    how bout no?

you guys use the batch compiler if you want. i have 3 computers in this room and they all are decent to do other things on. internet, games, etc.

i can also browse the net with hammer open, but who would want to? with or without the batch compiler bsp, csg, vis and rad (vis and rad mostly) eat up 99% of the cpu power. so even if you didnt have the hammer editor compiling your map, and you went with the batch compiler, your computer would be horribly unresponsive (unless you set the compile tools to low priority which would make it take longer). in the end there is no gain except with memory usage, and since i have 1024 MB of ram thats not an issue.

and im a pest you say moconnor? well your right. im here to **** you and everyone else off.

Actually, no, you're computer would not be horribly unresponsive. You think that because you use VHE's compiler, and so you assume that no one else's machine would operate better. Stop acting like you have <b>the</b> powerhouse of a computer compared to everyone else, because I can assure you that you're wrong. I actually have 2048MB of ram, but I'm not going to go into more detail in that for this topic's sake.

hammer doesnt use 99% of the cpu power as i said, and i used to batch compile for quake 3. the compile tools use all the cpu power, not hammer. hammer although eats memory like mad if you have alot of wads loaded.

and im assuming that my computer is more powerful than most compiling computers, because the majority of the mappers i know have P3's and early p4 1.5 GHz boxes with 256 or less ram.

Eh, right now the internet connection on my computer is broken, so I won't be able to get any more screens. Once it goes up though I'll probably do a new compile, submit it to Nem0, and post lots o' pictures.

Edit: After looking at Zunni's post about map submissions, I will be making a new thread for this map tommorrow. I will also have a downloadable version ready, with some pictures.
