Doomy, saying Gamespy is going to buy up all the download sites is akin to saying they will own ever gaming file on the internet. Even if it gets to the point where patches ONLY come from them (not gonna happen, especially with stuff like Steam catching on) people are still going to pirate the patches and demos because it's just stupid to have to be stuck with one place.

They once in a while show pictures of their office from the outside, and different things like that. Sure, they probably get a bigger paycheck then you, but then again: They've been in the business a long time, and definately have done their part in helping the entire gaming community get it's act together.
se boomtown, and please dont say that gamespy will buy it all up
we will have two EAs then <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

My reason for "hating" GS is because of what I said above, squashing free download sites to increase the need for their services.
I don't necessarily hate GameSpy, but rather very disappointed with them. I remember them back in.. 94? 95? when they started with a single website called Planetquake that covered a lot games and grew. Free downloads were nice and I think it's already enough that I pay $30 for broadband($50 back in the day). So I say kudos to GS Industries for growing in to something big, but like all services like GSI you can always find a competitor that offers the same at a better price. I prefer free downloads than creating a need for a new market that is downloading game files..
and they have a few d/l servers based in the netherlands, so it's one of the fastest sites for me. And it has just about anything <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I love gamershell because of that <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
