One interesting thing you guys might like. A lot of his projects centered on developing new materials and cost saving delivery vehicles. Asking what he thinks about the Ansari X Prize winners is probably too simplistic a question; darn well near any engineer will probably say they have respect for the team for pulling it off the way they did.
But do ask what NASA has learned from observing the competition (whether they learned it from the winning spacecraft design team or other competitors).
What improvements to the 1969 Apollo program are in place in getting us to the moon again, and eventually to Mars? (because it seems to me it'll just be tinier computers, and lots of liquid fuel)
Does a plan exist to replace the Hubble's deep-space imaging abilities? Possibly a better telescope with better imaging and filters? (I don't think so, but I want one )
Will Space Elevators be a plausible (or truly considered) way of getting presently expensive-to-transport space-faring equipment into space? With the invention of nanotubes and stronger materials; along with a NASA funded study on space elevators, it seems like they could be possible in the near future.
...can I have a ride in the space shuttle?
[Maybe they're not really engineering specific questions.]
Ok, is NASA really offering services to launch Satellite and stuffs at a loss to keep private firms from space as depicted in Dan Brown's Deception Point?
Ask if space is the ultimate choice of getting rid off all the junk on earth. I mean some sort of lets call it a "tube" which you load with garbage then it's aimed into the sun incenerating (spelling?) the lot of it. (im serious)

Edit : Ok, my apologys for being really offtopic. My real question is : When do you think will we be using things related to Quantum physics?
Oh man, theres so much I would like to ask a knowledgable person about alot of things... Alot of it has to do with combat in space.
hmm... one question.... oh, how freakin cool is it to work at NASA? I mean, do you get up in the morning all like "Damn life is awesome! I work at flipping NASA!"... no wait don't ask him that I already know the answer...
I know theres a lot of polotics surrounding this so he probably won't be able to speak his mind as well as he'd like, but: Is the sudden change in direction towards getting back to the moon and later mars, really such a good idea? I mean, the Hubble space telescope gave us alot of scientific bang for our buck, as did gallileo and casini. These missions will likely cost us an amount of money I'm not even willing to guess at, will their scientific value be worth it?
Annother question, again somewhat politically loaded: It is my impression that, since Columbia, the public believes that sending humans to space is "too dangerous". Frankly, its always been dangerous and I think you guys have a very awesome safety record considering. How has this sentiment affected NASA's mission planning? I mean, it seems that the HST will be de-orbited, rather then maintained again, because of it. What else has it affected?
And tell him NASA rules for me will ya?

What are his plans to access the border world.... actually, what is the most promising tech for ultra high power sources in space (ie over 1Mw), considering I don't want them to launch anything radioactive up in a rocket that has a 2 decimal chance of asploding in the atmosphere spreading radioactive crap all over...
