Assuming we're all thinking of the same thing? Space elevator aka orbital tether where a space station is attached to surface of the Earth by a series of metal cables that a pod can then travel up and down using magnets?

Is there a new, more flexible - yet more durable - space suit in the works? The one we have now seems to not advanced to far, material-wise, and it seems like we could do better. It could increase productivity, marginally reduce weight loads and other possible benefits.

3. Has the presidential goals of manned missions to the moon and mars caused any projects or missions that you feel have more scientific worth to be cut or be lowered in priority?
4. Do you feel there are any viable replacements to the Hubble space telescope that will come online soon? I know there has been research (not sure about plans) on placing radio imaging arrays in space, but can this replace the hubble and how soon do you feel it can come online?
And come on... why are there so many questions about space elevators?
