Alan Rickman is the voice of Marvin...
My issue is the very first line of the trailer is WRONG... the HGTTG is NOT the standard repository of information in the galaxy... There was another "guide" much more complete.. But the guide is cheaper and therefore sells better.. (check the book/BBC series if you don't believe me)
Am waiting for this one though... (but based on both trailers I don't think it's going to be exceptional)

Going to be a fantastic movie.
About Pratchett, they have to make a movie about Rincewind. Preferably one about the book where he is in pseudo-China, that book was brilliant [Urinating dog, urinating dog, urinating dog]
P.S. Unbelivable amounts of respect to the man that can translate that last bit.
I liked the trailer that started off with "And I think to myself, what a wonderful world". Then the earth explodes. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> This one is good too.

The Fifth Elephant was one of my favourite Pratchett books of all time. I have read most of the series too. Except Lords and Ladies strangely enough. A lot of people say that's the best.
OH! That's right, this is a HHG topic. I really don't like marvin's huge head, though his voice is absolutely flawless. The heart of gold isn't anything like I imagined it either. It was supposed to be shaped vaguely like a slipper, if memory serves.
AND WHERE IS ZAPHOD'S SECOND HEAD?!?!! I do like his rocking out scene however.

Well, if we ever meet another World Turtle, we need to know what position ours will take.
And as for my 'point,' I'm pointing out that Marvin has never been very paranoid, but rather manic depressive. And the line above that was a quote. And I'm thinking they need to sell promotional towels. I think light blue's the color.
That trailer hit the spot. Adams would be proud...

Zaphod needs a third arm and a second head though <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

But it looks like they did a great job even if they arent following the book literally, which is a good thing since it means even hardcore fans will get a surprise or two =)

Zaphod's second head is hidden under the first, which is fine because throughout most of the book Adams hardly ever mentions it and no one reacts to it, (Arthur seems to accept it really fast and he's the only one who should be reacting to it) so having it hidden seems fine. Anyway it fits with my mental image of him only having one head because Adams rarely talks about it.
The third arm? Yes <i>vortigaunt</i>, perfect.
------------- Docchimp's right, that voice for Marvin is just too damn perfect and the look suits him, as it would be reason enough for me to be depressed.
As for him not really being paranoid, I agree, but paranoid and android fit too well to supplant it with "manically depressed android", which is probably why Adams did that.
Ah, I didnt see that trailer, thanks for the link.
