If Sega wanted to profit from Sonic, they would go back to making 2d Sonic games with the only secondary characters being Tails and/or Knuckles. You know, the ones that people actually <i>like</i>? Unfortunately, they're pulling this crap, probably to punish us for not buying enough Dreamcasts or something like that. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
They can't really make a 2d game...because nobody would buy it.

Seriously, think about it - a 2d game on gamecube. Reminds me of super smash brothers.

    I guess it could work...idk.

They DO have games like that for GBA though (sonic advance 1, 2 and 3 are all 2d I think).

    I'd buy it.

EDIT: Everybody that'd buy Shadow the Hedgehog would probably buy it. Or at least everyone that'd consciously make that decision. And everyone who's disappointed by the 3D Sonic games.

I liked the graphics in Street Fighter III, they were in 2D.

In my opinion sonic should have never gone 3D, think Megaman.

just because a game is 2D doesnt mean it will limit gameplay or anything.

the only 3D sonic game I liked was Sonic adventure 2, Sonic heroes really disapointed me.
  • GiGaBiTeGiGaBiTe Join Date: 2003-10-07 Member: 21489Members
sonic heroes is dissapointing because its so easy to get a wrong camera view and fall and die..

i would also buy 2d sonic games, i have sonic advance 3 for the gba, and the originals for the sega genesis including sonic crackers which never got past beta stage.

whats funny, sonic team ripped themselves off, they have sonic 1 themed levels from the sega genesis in sonic advance 3 lol, and they use a remixed green hill zone themesong for those levels.

I think SNK fighters are some of the best games out there, and they don't really touch 3d all that often. 2d DOES sell, it just needs to be good. Unfortunately, Sega seems to have lost their touch, judging by the GBA Sonic games. Sonic Battle was easy as all hell once you knew how to juggle, and was thus totally dull. The Sonic Advanced games were just...not that great.

I dunno what it is, but their spark has kind of died.

Well...I don't really think any of their games were that hard (besides sonic spinball...WOW I hated that game...to difficult)

I beat the 1st sonic on genesis on my 3rd try, and the 2nd sonic on my 2nd try.

No, I mean easy. Like pathetically easy. As in "you won't die or get hurt even once" grade easy. Even the 3 on 1 battles can be won by just constantly juggling them. All you need is a little timing and you're unstoppable. .

Oh...and to think that I wanted one of the sonic advances.

    That REALLY sucks.

The Sonic Advance series isn't anywhere near as bad as Sonic Battle, admittedly. But they're still not the best thing you can go out and get for your GBA.

Who's dissin' it? As far as I am concered, the Series practically stops there.

No fake 3D BS a.l.a. Sonic 3D Blast (damn that miserable game), no hideous voice acting BS a.l.a. Sonic Adventure Series.

    kTHXbai.

The sonic adventure camera is the worst attrocities to have ever graced 3D gaming :s

I personally love stuff like guilty gear, smash bros and the like and I often find myself missing the old 2D goodness. I'm pretty addicted to 'zelda: the minish cap' right now on the GBA (though I'm playing it on my DS :3 ).

    I think for a lot of games the developers are really still in the early stages of making an actual fun game with 3D graphics ^^;
Sure there's fun 3D games out there but for me most lack the immersion and addictive fun of their 2D counterparts.
