And then this enemy of "trial lawyers" hired a trial lawyer and sued a company who made the equipment his father hurt himself on for 250,000 dollars.
The Fransicans who stand with Terri's parents? They did keep their brain damaged founder alive for 12 years, but when he got pneumonia, they refused to intubate him (a tube airway) and let him die.
And Mr. Schindler? He let his 79 year old mother pass away: and she wasn't even brain damged, just had pneumonia and kidney failure that could have been cured by dialysis and a temporary vent!
Seems like the moralistic rhetoric was a little overblown, no?

That's a fair question. But then, should any human being be allowed to remain in such a state for the rest of their lives? It seems like a form of abuse to me.

And Terri is a vegetable, for arguments sake I introduced the possiblity of self-awareness a while back.
It is obvious that they need outside intervention here, as they are incapable of dealing with the reality of their daughter's condition. The daughter IMO should not be a human "plant" that makes their parents feel better; but should be allowed to pass and remembered as she was before the heart-attack she suffered.
To keep her alive is IMO a form of abuse, and frankly goes against human decency and dignity.

One note, Pepe, it was a very bad idea in the beginning to ask for them to keep it civil while tacking on a rather blatent attack at those who don't follow your own code of morality. Take it from a Catholic: you can attract more flies with honey than vinegar!
