I've been adminning servers for as long as I can remember .. quake, cs, ns .. I've never had my admin 'revoked' due to abuse .. but for some reason .. anyone I kick of ban .. calls 'abuse' straight away .. so I guess I must be an ban/abusive admin ..

My time is worth something, so is the time of every other player on the server .. if one player wastes everyones time by ruining the game for others on purpose .. they deserve a kick/temp ban/perm ban depending on severity.. you feel your time is worthless? Someone jumps in the CC and sells spawn midgame .. you don't see that as a waste of your time? Time you won't get back?

The only way that you could be right in what you're saying s if you consider the fact that I was not moving in the CT spawn while I was typing my continual response to your initial slaying of a CT, which was not me. I was already dead at the time, because I'd tried rushing through the doors (the irony of it all) and had watched a CT trying to take out the bridge snipers so that his team could advance (ie he was not the last man). It was then that you slayed him.
Following this I questioned your decision, without flames. I only started flaming the admins when I was slayed for typing 'pwned'. I aplogise for this act of immaturity, for I knew full-well at the time that it was the admin, just as DaGhost has apologised for his.

I stopped posting after the one made by "Crispy" on page 2. The rest of the guest posts have been made from fellow members of the gaming community who obviously felt the need to show that I am not the only person who thinks you have problems with your ban system. There's no reason for telling you which forums I posted on because this is not a battle between one community and another, but between reason and the unreasonable. Telling you from which forum I linked this thread would probably prompt some sort of retaliation on that forum by the more immature members of your admins or community, and the opinions represented by members of that community in this thread by no means represent the opinions of that community as a whole.
P.S. I'd like to change the name of this topic to: You have a problem with your ban system, as I can see that DaGhost doesn't seem like such a bad admin, just one who made a mistake, and we all make mistakes. Best and prob the only ban I have been given are for shooting recycled armory and saying "hi" in finnish. Marines shouldn't need orders aside, "Go get rts. Woo." For the start of any game. Maybe, "Go to location x and get rts. Woo."
Try holding your nodes, on a map such as Eclipse. Go cap SAA and have everyone else cap nodes like Horseshoe, powersub, or SAA right at the start, and make sure everyone caps a node. See how long you live vs a somewhat competent rine team that doesn't spend 200+ res in "TURRENT DEFANCE" That strat you mentioned for the aliens, is one of the most successful ways to lose.

I think what he is trying to say is the when you join a server it is a <b>privilege</b> it isn't <b>your right</b> to go there and do what you want and waste admins time by screaming or being a basic idiot and spoiling the game for everyone else.
Taking s**t as someone so kindly put don't come with the role of being admin if someone gives you s**t when ya admin do 1 of the following <b>slay/kick/ban</b> simple as because if idiots see 1 idiot giving you s**t and you taking it then they will all join in.
If you can't play by the server rules then **** off to an idiots server.
I know if some idiot came on my server and gave me s**t i wouldn't give him a second chance i would press these 5 keys to ban him:

Admins don't have to take s**t what so ever and taking it doesn't come with the territory. If you take it you are afraid of an idiot who you think will go give ya server a bad name or ya admin might get revoked. If ya admin gets revoked because you banned someone for giving you s**t then the server owner is a retard.
Basically in short alot of admins are getting fed up of idots coming on their server thinking its their "right" when its a privilege and giving the admin s**t.
I don't have time to argue with idiots when im in-game as im usually trying to kill things.
I don't cheat, but have jumped around like a fool sometimes... I also nolonger play ns_ maps due to insane admins and... well... nooby teams that aren't even close to even.
If i do play ns_ maps, i only play on Guns For Smelly NooBz sever . I have been banned and kick't for some of the t'ings you have all said.... well back befor steam anyway.
The only ban from the steam+ versions is some fool who didn't want a gorgy-butt yet..... he said it to late, as i was on my way to bein' a gorgy-butt befor that. So he got all pissy and banned me for 1 day(way over kill for that). For a week after he kicked me off if i evolved at all.... funny stuff. (he wasn't an admin after that)

I was banned from my own server once. I was aliasing and I relocated to the other side of MS on bast. The aliens were like "OMGWTHBAN!!!11!!1!" and one of my fellow admins was like "Useless reloc = ban. Have a nice day."

I think what he is trying to say is the when you join a server it is a <b>privilege</b> it isn't <b>your right</b> to go there and do what you want and waste admins time by screaming or being a basic idiot and spoiling the game for everyone else.
Taking s**t as someone so kindly put don't come with the role of being admin if someone gives you s**t when ya admin do 1 of the following <b>slay/kick/ban</b> simple as because if idiots see 1 idiot giving you s**t and you taking it then they will all join in.
If you can't play by the server rules then **** off to an idiots server.
I know if some idiot came on my server and gave me s**t i wouldn't give him a second chance i would press these 5 keys to ban him:

Admins don't have to take s**t what so ever and taking it doesn't come with the territory. If you take it you are afraid of an idiot who you think will go give ya server a bad name or ya admin might get revoked. If ya admin gets revoked because you banned someone for giving you s**t then the server owner is a retard.
Basically in short alot of admins are getting fed up of idots coming on their server thinking its their "right" when its a privilege and giving the admin s**t.

I know for a fact Zunni has been banned from servers before, and it's likely the others have as well (I'd personally take a screenshot instead of banning them, because even during playtesting, I never once saw nem or flayra).

I've been adminning servers for as long as I can remember .. quake, cs, ns .. I've never had my admin 'revoked' due to abuse .. but for some reason .. anyone I kick of ban .. calls 'abuse' straight away .. so I guess I must be an ban/abusive admin ..

My time is worth something, so is the time of every other player on the server .. if one player wastes everyones time by ruining the game for others on purpose .. they deserve a kick/temp ban/perm ban depending on severity.. you feel your time is worthless? Someone jumps in the CC and sells spawn midgame .. you don't see that as a waste of your time? Time you won't get back?

The only way that you could be right in what you're saying s if you consider the fact that I was not moving in the CT spawn while I was typing my continual response to your initial slaying of a CT, which was not me. I was already dead at the time, because I'd tried rushing through the doors (the irony of it all) and had watched a CT trying to take out the bridge snipers so that his team could advance (ie he was not the last man). It was then that you slayed him.
Following this I questioned your decision, without flames. I only started flaming the admins when I was slayed for typing 'pwned'. I aplogise for this act of immaturity, for I knew full-well at the time that it was the admin, just as DaGhost has apologised for his.

I stopped posting after the one made by "Crispy" on page 2. The rest of the guest posts have been made from fellow members of the gaming community who obviously felt the need to show that I am not the only person who thinks you have problems with your ban system. There's no reason for telling you which forums I posted on because this is not a battle between one community and another, but between reason and the unreasonable. Telling you from which forum I linked this thread would probably prompt some sort of retaliation on that forum by the more immature members of your admins or community, and the opinions represented by members of that community in this thread by no means represent the opinions of that community as a whole.
P.S. I'd like to change the name of this topic to: You have a problem with your ban system, as I can see that DaGhost doesn't seem like such a bad admin, just one who made a mistake, and we all make mistakes. Marines shouldn't need orders aside, "Go get rts. Woo." For the start of any game. Maybe, "Go to location x and get rts. Woo."
Try holding your nodes, on a map such as Eclipse. Go cap SAA and have everyone else cap nodes like Horseshoe, powersub, or SAA right at the start, and make sure everyone caps a node. See how long you live vs a somewhat competent rine team that doesn't spend 200+ res in "TURRENT DEFANCE" That strat you mentioned for the aliens, is one of the most successful ways to lose.

Then, you say that, since you are not being paid to admin (a SERVICE, according to you), you should be able to do whatever you want. If i do play ns_ maps, i only play on Guns For Smelly NooBz sever . I have been banned and kick't for some of the t'ings you have all said.... well back befor steam anyway.
The only ban from the steam+ versions is some fool who didn't want a gorgy-butt yet..... he said it to late, as i was on my way to bein' a gorgy-butt befor that. So he got all pissy and banned me for 1 day(way over kill for that). For a week after he kicked me off if i evolved at all.... funny stuff. (he wasn't an admin after that)

First, you call admining a service, and you criticize most other admins because they let the power of the ban go to their heads. I think what he is trying to say is the when you join a server it is a <b>privilege</b> it isn't <b>your right</b> to go there and do what you want and waste admins time by screaming or being a basic idiot and spoiling the game for everyone else.
Taking s**t as someone so kindly put don't come with the role of being admin if someone gives you s**t when ya admin do 1 of the following <b>slay/kick/ban</b> simple as because if idiots see 1 idiot giving you s**t and you taking it then they will all join in.
If you can't play by the server rules then **** off to an idiots server.

Admins don't have to take s**t what so ever and taking it doesn't come with the territory. If you take it you are afraid of an idiot who you think will go give ya server a bad name or ya admin might get revoked. If ya admin gets revoked because you banned someone for giving you s**t then the server owner is a retard.
Basically in short alot of admins are getting fed up of idots coming on their server thinking its their "right" when its a privilege and giving the admin s**t.

Well yeah, if the guy's being an asshat ban him, but "I ban people for wasting my time," is a broad enough statement that it definitely clashes with the following statement "Admins shouldn't let the power go to their heads." What makes your time any more valuable? Everyone's just playing a game, so in effect you are deciding what is fun. That's a lot different than banning an abusive player. What if I admined a server, and I decided that grenade spam wasn't fun, so I decided to kick anyone who bought/dropped a gl? Yeah, I'd have the right to, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm being a jack-*** of an admin, and I most certainly <u>have</u> let the power go to my head.

People who don't understand that it comes with the territory are the ones who have let the 'power go to their heads'. There is power and responsibility, and downsides to being a responsible admin.
