Heh. Still-spell, Fighter/Wizard, with Medium/Heavy armour proficiency with martial weapon proficiency? Or was he just bumbly and unwieldly with the armour and sword?
In D&DO if I get to try it I'll probably go Monk. I love crazy, violent Bards, but I love a Monk even more. Lawful, logical, yet mystical/spiritual and has the ability to punch through a man or stop his heart with an open-palmed attack.

I don't have a clue about what you guys are talking about, and I intend that to be the main reason for them to let me be a tester. A complete nubs viewpoint. I somehow doubt there are enough educated fans to fill their needs for customers.
I jumped from 2ed to 3.5 so I couldn't say test :3
I don't mind the ruleset being used in games so much but I'm a little tired of them to be honest. I was going to some RP group for a while but then the D&D anniversary hit and they were all playing D&D games and I've not been back since... it was driving me nuts. Then again it could just be the GMs. I did sorta mention maybe doing a GMing session sometime before I left and it attracted a lot of interest... methinks one of my friends had been blabbing about the games I used to GM.
Where was a getting with this? I dunno lol. You could always try looking for an RP group in your area; I heard of the one i went to by word of mouth. Unlike anime clubs which can be full of scary people RPers are a bit more sane as they have to actually talk to each other for their activity :D I won't ever mention what happened the one time I popped into an anime group to see what it's like... I even left them 2 of my DVDs which I refuse to go back and get :p
oh and for funsake... <a href='http://www.gucomics.com/archives/view.php?cdate=20050408' target='_blank'>http://www.gucomics.com/archives/view.php?cdate=20050408</a>
Hardcore anime fans scare me. But, yeah, I should really fish around for a D&D group. I always think those groups will never exist in my city, cuz it's really small compared to most. Even though we're flooded by Asians during summer for tourism, it's small.

A D&D game should really have roleplayers, or it's not D&D. That's why NWN had such a wonderful roleplaying base, even if a ton of them were idiots playing "HOTTZ DROW LEZBIANZ LOL."
Roleplay really extends a game's life by a LOT. It's like a great lil soap opera except you're somewhat in control of the script :D It helps if the game gives you good tools to RP with though...
I like to roleplay to create characters from their interactions more than anything. I like a good story, but nothing is greater than designing a character to be a somewhat peppy bard, only to have her grow a severe hatred of halflings, and do vigilante justice with a huge flail, after being banned from a town for her bad temper. Yes. That happened to one of my characters in NWN. ;\

I cast Magic Missile on the DARKNESS!
Yes, MM does rock.
however a fireball is much more fun when playing with the metamagic feats <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
though the more uncomon spells are actualy better (alot of them can be tweaked by the caster to do some fun stuff <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
As for 3.0 vs 3.5, not much difference. I think 3.5 sorta unbroke monks as well as fixing a bunch of blatant bugs in the system.
most of the changes are things that normal people end up going to take a look at the PHB for any way.
the main thing that 3.5 did was make my $20 book obsoleate (no, I never bought a 3.5)
Oh, and there is no way to segnificantly remove penalties from casting in armour (you can get rid of a little, but it still sucks and is generaly a better Idea just to hide behind your meat tank).

I find it a bit odd that something based entirely on D&D would feature entirely fluid, real-time combat. I guess it's too much time with the Baldur's Gate series that's just drilled it into my mind that D&D should be turn based. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I hope this game has Exotic Weapon Proficiency: Improvised. It'd be hard to pull off, but I've always wanted to make my old crazy bard kicking **** with a broken bottle in a bar, while screaming at everyone.
