true, its not ahrd to avoid breaking this law. the point is, an overwhelming majority of internet users want to break this law, and therefore in a fair democracy, it wouldnt be illegal. this is true of any possible action.

Then again when you think about comparing new laws and punishments to all the older pre-existing ones you have to remember that the guys who wrote the origional constitution (from which the judicial system has to pass every law by) way back when couldnt have known about things like the internet and all the problems from pr0n to filesharing that would come with it.
Basically its like trying to make DOOM 3 with the origional castle wolfenstein engine and with very little in the way of improvements.
Thus thats why many new issues especially technology related issues seem to get so messed up as law makers try to start establishing crimes and punishments to something that they deem to be approapriate to the hear and now not things of the past.
Setting a new trend if you will. ie: Comparing the sentence of filesharing to manslaughter. They might have thought that it is a serious issue so they gave it a stiff sentence. They dont necciarily have to go back to all the pre exisiting laws and be like,
"well we cant do this b/c this other crime already gets this punishment"
They could go back and raise all the penalty for manslaughter up but hey, too much work/consequences or screw it, leave it be and start raising the punishment bar with the new crimes.
personally I think the penalty for this is a bit high but I wasnt the one making the law.

In Florida not more htan 5 days ago, a young girl was found burried alive after being kidnapped and raped. She was shoved into a garbage bag and bound, burried. She was found in a praying position, and I do not know if she was dead or alive
The guy was found, confessed... and released. He has been marked down by the county as a known sex offender
