the fact they said "ut2k4 wasn't as good as it could've been" and seem to mention it as if they realise UT rocked is music to my ears.
The problem really is though... will this new one be as good as UT was or will it be another UT2k3 which while not a bad game was poop next to the greatness of it's predecessor :o
Wrong. I really enjoyed UT2K4, but as for quintessential FPS, Quake knocked it cold. UT just had a much more 'laced' feeling.
I'll likely buy this one, too, though that model looks as though the character caught a very bad cold <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ive always preferred UT over quake, and I thought UT2004 was a great game, frankly I was surprised they said it was dissapointing, maybe its because UT2004 was the kind of game they hoped UT2003 would be....and generally wasnt (though it was still fun).
Unreal Engine 3 will pwn, theres no question. I just hope it runs alright on my comp when it comes out. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
As long as the include some of those fancy melee moves from Unreal Championship 2 over on yonder X-Box... Being pretty is nice, but so is being fun (btw, UT2k4... I don't like the way the mouse controls... I'm more used to Quake style games and UT2k4 just seems strange every time I play it... But Onslaught is cool).
And how about that singleplayer? Have they just totally abandoned the idea of a SP campaign?
Dunno. Duke Nukem Forever will kick its **** when it comes out in a few...
Pfft..(original) Unreal graphics pwn all at the time. (they still do <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

Matt: If that was all my computer(Read PIV 3.6ghz HT, 6800GTOC, 3gig ram(DDR2 533) could run I would feel really bad.
It had to do with the unreal engine. I'll let you guys take it from there, and yes I am stealing this thread.
Im kinda stumped.....and ive been following UT for years, not to mention programming for it....
Is it cause the engine pwns then? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Hopefully the new UT is the one of the first games out for Unreal Engine 3. I can't wait to see games on it. I enjoyed UT2k4. It is a blast to play for LANs and just fun, but I don't mind them going back to the first UT with a grittier style.

I'm not looking forward to any games using this engine, actually. Biggest first person shooters I'm looking forward to (FEAR and STALKER, double acronyms) use their own engines.
If Raven does to the Doom 3 engine what I hope they're going to do with it in Quake IV, Unreal 3 tech will suddenly matter a lot less.
Quite sexy, hopefully the graphics wont let me down as much as hl2's did :/ (hl2 physics are awesome, but the rest is suprisingly low quality to me, besides the player models)

I wish....
Then again you kindof have a point....from they claim its a "heavily modified" version of the unreal engine, with havoc physics. So its a little more impressive (visually) than HL², but from what I've seen its lacking in the funness department.
Just thought it was using UE3 cause they were making so much of a fuss about it, and cause it looks sweet. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
