The Official Thread 4 Chronologically Challenged
<div class="IPBDescription">The Geriatric Assassin Squad Rocks On</div> Certainly there are others out there in my situation. Die-hard gamers who just refuse to grow up, who love computers and this NS community. Let's hear from you old farts, tell us how old you are, how long you've been gaming, why you do this. Every thread I post in of late my age comes up, so obviously there's a fascination with it.
I am Depot, a 57 year old gamer who is twice retired and lives in Florida. I started gaming maybe a decade ago when a friend turned me on to a TFC demo and I was hooked. As most of you know I jumped on the NS bandwagon Halloween of 2002, and as Paul Harvey used to say, "Now you know. the REST of the story..."
Oh yeah, my olderst grandson is older than a lot of you. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I dono if there are actualy that many "old" people hanging around here (heck I feel old hanging around most of the people in this forum <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
You have been added to my ever-growing list of adoptees. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
You will be back.
Oh Yes.
You WILL be back!
*evil laughter*
Anyway - My next door neighbour is kindof like you depot - he's a handy man and he's not technically impaired either! Thats the best person I could think of at any rate.
Always loved computers, as a little boy i sat there by the machine, playing Batman, in black/green. And the game "Jeep".
I will continue gaming, even though i will have less time for it the next years.
Damn makes me think, wanna get 16 so i can get my knallert/scooter' driving license, and to be able to buy my own alcohol. (i CAN buy it now, 'it just be not legal, m'kaay)
Great with some old folks around here, jep.
sure. They just never ask for ID. (Thank you).
Wich reminds me of how drunk i was yesterday.

Lucky. I'm 18 soon and I can't get away without being ID'd. Oh well. On with the rest of the thread. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Then I was given an old pong machine, how fun that was.
One day, I'll be 57, and I'll have my virtual reality games, and it'll be kickass.
But they do seriously love SNES games, they used to play them back in the day all the time. It's pretty cool to come home from school and see your Mom parked in front of the TV playing SMB3 or Super Metroid or something.
I golf occationally, oh, and shuffle board, good times!
(sad thing is, I'm serious... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->)
I don't think every game player is actually a gamer. I know a few people who I used to play with when we were younger but, as time went by (I'm now 22) they slowly lost their interest in it.
I, however, am truly a hardcore gamer <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Will be getting guildwars as soon as I get paid (6 days and 6 hours) and until then I've been using what little time I have to plan my characters out. I'm going to have 3 RP characters that encompass all 6 professions (E/Mo, N/R, Me/W is the plan so far although it's STC) and then one PVP character that I can test out using all the various skills garnered in my RPing.
I've also written out an excel chart with all of the Elite skills, their details, descriptions and where to go to find them (location and boss).
Proud to be a geek! <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Don't forget painting houses and building RC planes ... ... ...

w00h00, yet another Geriatric Assassin !!!
It's the same over here.
Technically, the legal age for beer/wine/other low-alcohol-content drinks is 16, while the ages for spirits is 18.
Not that it matters though. being 6'5" has it's advantages <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

And eating Werthers Original.
Only difference is that my games these days lean towards being more social,i.e: online games and multiplayers. (with exception of Dynasty Warriors)
I will only stop playing when my inner child realises it cannot control me and lets go,or if video games become illegal/too boring. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
My father was a temporary hardcore SMB1 player,I blame my parents for
*discovering consoles.
*discovering online games.
Which I have been critiqued for. One day I shall tell them the truth.
Til then,FOR THE HORDE!! I mean,FOR THRE ALIENS!! <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Oh, and CMEast:

1. Me/W sounds like a horrible combination. Be a W/Me if you want that combo. Warrior in general is a horrible secondary class, except if your primary is either monk or necro.
2. Start one character, get him into the "real" game a bit(post-searing, if you don't know what I'm talking about, you'll know when you hit it), then use him to gather good equipment for your other two characters so you don't struggle so much with them once you go post-searing.
3. PVP chars are for wimps <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
4. Join a guild. At the very least, I think there's an NS guild, right?
I can give a bit of advice on the selling prices of items (dyes, weapons, etc). If you want to add me to friends, my main char is Skyy High. I'm also Talon Drakke and The Angry Midget.
