3-5 played on NES nonstop. Didn't have much school until kindergarten that time anyway.
Anyway, I was 5 and a half years old, and that's when the worst thing happened : NES b0rked! So there I was stuck without games......no games at all.....for 3 and a half years that is.
9 years old, christmas time. Begged mom for PS. And we finally got one! Had a blast playing Blast Chamber on it (no pun intended ) Ever since....I have never given up on homework so easily just to play games before that day....
I'm 17 now. Sitting on comp or playing PS2 =\ And to give you a rough idea on how much I played....alone myself I have around 100+ games I bought myself. Most of my siblings bought their own as well. When you put them together, you get a really big total of 500+ games
I swear it was hell to look for a game you wanted toplay, and ditch it for another one you found in the big Shelf of Games
For those of you in the dark here, "The Official Thread 4 Chronologically Challenged" would refer to "older" memebrs of the community. "Geriatric" would be your first clue there.
That being said, let's hear from more of the older generation.
lol hearing solely from the older generation is probably less than 100 of the many thousands of forum users, and probably less than 20 still active ones.
I can't really say my parents are gamers though, I mean my dad has been playing stuff for quite a while, but turn based strategy games don't make a gamer....
My dad played some before he died. He was pretty good at Mega Man 2, but could never manage to walk out of that starting room in Halo on his own. So, until he was 49.
I'm 19 for a bit; the earliest game I can recall playing was Journey Escape on the Atari when I was 3 (before you people and your fancy Windows 3.1). There was also River Raid and some game with submarines, whose name I can't recall (among others; like the prisoner running in the supermarket, M*A*S*H, Centipede, the boxing Es [I didn't realize it was boxing until about 6 years ago], etc.).
The only thing I see stopping my playing is either blindness, muscular atrophy or CTS. None of those are coming for a while . Maybe video games will be a generational thing, and in 25 years the kids will think that video games are boring (like playing marbles! ).
So, no, I'm not old. And the most advanced game my mom plays is Word Whomp on yahoo.com...
I played atari, frogger (the original), some catapult game, defender, all those classics

I just don't fancy being a warrior type at all, not my style of play. On the other hand I could happily be a pure Mes. Besides I could specialise in killing magic users or something.
2. I played the final beta weekend and got pretty far so I know what you mean and yes, that's pretty much exactly what I had planned.
3. PvP chars are only wimpy if you don't already have 3 lvl20 RP char's floating about to provide you with all the skills and equipment you need. Then they are just handy time saving devices.
4. I plan too, whats the point in playing GW if you don't want to be in a guild? I was in the NS one during the beta and I'll probably try and catch up with them all again but I don't know if I'll be joining them or if there is another guild that is more me. Besides I have a few RL friends playing so I might just create one with them
Anyway, thank you for your offer, I may well take you up on it as, while I've read pretty much every manual/article/guide available it is never going to replace in-game experience. I'll probably stop by and say hi anyway My name is usually a variation of CMEast so have a look out for anyone called Sieme Ees or similar.
I'm 22, started gaming with old MS-DOS games when I was a wee lass, then got an NES, then an SNES... went from there. Started online FPS games with Quake/CTF (which I was horrible at, only touched it a couple times), and started CS regularly in the dorms 4 years ago, got decent at it, then went off to DoD and then NS.
NS is really the only game I play regularly, though I've been poking at my consoles again, and I picked up Guild Wars...
