lol just thought id post these important things to remember when you are all ready to go.
1. People will lie to to you over the stupidedest, smallest details.... No, not everyone will lie to you but just keep that in mind. Even the non criminals, just b/c they are embarrissed over a detail or they want to make their story sound better.
2. I dont know how complex the streets and roads are in your area but either way,
Always know where you are, start getting used to always knowing what street you are on, the nearest cross street and if not at least the name of the building or house number you are near.
If you are driving around in your own car start practicing this by taking note of every street name that you turn onto.
3. I havnt done this yet thankfully b/c im paranoid about doing it, but dont lock your keys in your cruiser. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
4. Peoples words can tell you a lot of info but they cant kill you, peoples hands can. Always be aware of where peoples hands are when you are talking with them. Never let them put them in their pockets. They always will.
5. On a traffic stop your feet are the first ones to touch the ground, never the people in the car you pulled over. Im not talking about racing to get out first, Im talking officer safety. Take your time, visually scan and get out when you are ready. The people in the car should be staying in there waitng for you to begin with.
6. Always be thinking of "what if" scenarios either in your own time, as you are approaching a situation, or when you think back on a stitation you just cleared. When the time comes where one of your "what if" situations does occure down the line you will be that much more prepared for it.
7. Remember your primary goal every day/night when you work is to go home safe and well.
Now that said, I ll say again. Have lots of fun and enjoy the very rewarding career that you are going into.
That and dont forget to watch out for those sneaky cloaked Oni.
