the idea of using some brain cells might throw existing combat players a bit off but nonetheless this is an awesome game mode, and actually fun too. we need an european server as well, though
Now that the main objective is not destroy the enemy cc/hive , is there anyway to prevent marines and aliens enter the respawn site? I have seen many players focusing on spawncamping a team and leaving the main objective to the rest of the team.
Pretty valid strategy, some in hive covering by being aggresive and forcing the team to concentrate on them while the rest complete the objective. Sort of like advanced covering, it may not be nice (I'm evil, yes) but it prevents fades and onos from hatching constantly if they die. I'm sure that mappers could make 1 way doors or func_push's if they felt like preventing spawncamping or the mod could do it too.
Also will there be a mode to this that limits # of upgrades per chamber and forces people to rebuy fades (ie need to get another 3 upgrades instead of them being refunded), shotguns, etc? Will there be a way to specify a different number of RT's depending on the mode, like less RT's for sequence and more for war?

It doesn't work because there were people on each team and the round never started. And if tournament mode was somehow set to 1, it wouldn't let us say ready anyway. And then we couldn't get the map to change because votemap wasn't enabled.

So basically this was initially romano's idea... He made a mod exactly like this before he left.. Not really sure how successful it was, I wasn't competitive at the time, and didn't really know him.
I like the idea, but I think its a little bit unblanaced atm.
Aliens always win the RT-Capture Mode because of the things milosis described. The TechTree Mode is domimated by the Marines, because after they got SGs you can't do anything. The chambers are going down too fast with SGs and than Aliens are ****, cause of the fact that you can't go fade and so on...

Same thing with Fades....if there are some with a few ups you cant save your buildings as marine. There must be some changes in that mode.
Really good plugin, in my opinion it should completely replace CO. Somethings gone wrong with that test server though, someone seems to have put tournament mode on - but typing ready does nothing.
Yeh i had a problem with tourney mode a min ago. Great idea thou, love the diverstiy of different game modes. If dev for this wants i can offer a euro server, if u want pm me to sort out details of the amxx.

The idea sounds pretty good, but one single suggestion; if ever this was to be implemented into NS, keep the current combat next to it. Why? there's just some players out there who love the epic ns-style deathmatch games. simple. I'm gonna try and play it now too, i'm very curious.

But we still have to teach the nubbies the value of their equipment/lifeforms! The thing that bugs me most about combat is the expendable fades.
