be nice to have a map of an entire crashed ship on a planet with marines starting outside in their drop-pod and having to gain entry to the ship by welding the doors open, or perhaps leave them shut and jetpack onto the roof and enter through all the ripped open sections in the hull! the commander wouldn't be able to create any material which is made of nanites (and that's nearly everything exept the human itself in NS). The kharaa wouldn't be able to build outside because there's no nanitenetwork supporting their buildings.
so if the devs wanna make outdoor maps I'll definitely quit playing NS! That's absolutely embarassing and not necessary!

that's the point for me!
and Gravity knows how it is if the game's going to become damadge fixed like it's now even the maps (bast etc.).
mostly the whole NGG group is inactive because NS isn't that attractive anymore because of it's fixes and the newcoming kiddys in the community. please don't take this offensive but that's what I think and what I discussed with Gravi alota times.
and the best thing is that maps made by mappers like SirPepe and Lt.Gravity don't become official because they don't follow the game idea or whatever.
In my opinion they do exactly respresent what NS is meant to be and how NS was back in the good old days of version 1.04 and 2. and they follow the rules of how a map has to be mapped (that's my opinion and I don't mean this as an official announcement against the official devs who have to check the maps first before making them official)
sorry but I had to let that out. otherwise ignore my comments if you disagree with me because you'd carry the whole discussion away. back to topic -.-
I really like NS! But it's sad to see it more and more becoming strange like other games which were nice in it's betas and beginnings (like Counter Strike) and turned into exactly the other side of what the Head of the Dev Crew wanted when he invented the game.
but we're all lucky that I don't make the judgements and they don't count here at all <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I left from PB3.0 and returned PB3.05 because of the server changes.
yes! I already said! The idea of combat ain't bad! but most CS kids behave like they usually do in CS and carry on in NS and so the whole game doesn't make fun at all! that's what I mean

I had a pretty cool idea for the whole nanogrid thing in outdoor maps. The resource nodes would have to be in man made structures to not look retarded, but I was thinking that the in between areas could be surrounded with nanite emitting pylons that extend the nangrid beyond the base for field work.
Imagine a dimly lit forest with lamp-post-shaped towers 10 feet tall or so spread among the underbrush with electronics at the top glowing from the chemical heat of nanite production. Imagine these things glowing with the sputtering light of gas lanterns but with an eerie blue tinge. I think it could be pretty cool

that's the point for me!
and Gravity knows how it is if the game's going to become damadge fixed like it's now even the maps (bast etc.).
mostly the whole NGG group is inactive because NS isn't that attractive anymore because of it's fixes and the newcoming kiddys in the community. please don't take this offensive but that's what I think and what I discussed with Gravi alota times.
and the best thing is that maps made by mappers like SirPepe and Lt.Gravity don't become official because they don't follow the game idea or whatever.
But it's sad to see it more and more becoming strange like other games which were nice in it's betas and beginnings (like Counter Strike) and turned into exactly the other side of what the Head of the Dev Crew wanted when he invented the game.
but we're all lucky that I don't make the judgements and they don't count here at all <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I have to say again ; please don't take this as some offensive!
Okay then, we will miss you. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I won't be the only one...I know alota ppl stopped playing because of the CS like babymode (combat) made for cs kids...
Combat is a nice idea but it destroys the teamspirit and the old fashioned thinking of how you play ns or how you should play ns..
his as some offensive! <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Combat isn't a babymode it's a well though out and executed quickfire gameplay mode. The reason alot of people stopped playing NS is because of the amount of servers that have converted to combat and the lack of quality in mainstream classic players when some of those servers converted back. I left from PB3.0 and returned PB3.05 because of the server changes.
I already said! The idea of combat ain't bad! but most CS kids behave like they usually do in CS and carry on in NS and so the whole game doesn't make fun at all!
that's what I mean
-edit-
there's a nice <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95868&st=0' target='_blank'>topic about combat</a> in general discussion. seems like I'm not the only one who thinks like that.
