alright, im trying to get this lava texture to work, i want it to scroll, like flowing lava. i tried doing it like an animated texture, with different frames of it moving and it looked pretty bad because it was jumpy, unless i put in like 50 frames and a lot of work.
In HL1 it's pretty easy. I haven't tried with Source, but I guess it could be done with <a href='http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Material_Proxies' target='_blank'>Material Proxies</a>.

I noticed in those screen shots that there are ammo crates and stuff lying around. Is it playable as like a DM map for HL2? If it is can we run around in it and gaze at it up close?

How right you are stave. It is indeed a fully playable HL2DM map, and does a good job at that, if I may say so. Once I "finished" Atmos, it turned out so well I decided I had to go and do the whole thing as a DM map. So... I did. i would post some screenies of what i have done with refinery so far, but my lighting is way off right now.
for some reason there are no lights in the original refinery, all the light just comes out of nowhere, and now im having a bit of trouble adding in good lighting that actually comes from somewhere. aslo the lack of good future spaceship type textures are hindering me.
You may need to use an alternate texturing theme. I certainly did. Atmos didn't have the cleanest of texture themes, but I was striving for a clean theme in my remake. You've just got to be flexible. You can probably find a texture that is approximately the same idea, just different theme to it. If you want help you can certainly pm me or grab me in #nsmapping. I"ll start idling in there again.

Just a suggestion, but I think that the quickest improvment would be to add specularity to some already existing textures. That, in the VERY short run would improve the "look" imensely.
