but seriously thats one thing i recognized about <3 was that they were really carried by buggeh's bite lerk.
It seems that a bite lerk would absolutely need celerity, which is rough. Also i'd imagine that the more you bit the more you die. And the more you stay back and just harrass, the safer you are. I always lose my lerks because I become too much of a hero and try to bite everything.
on the other hand, we had a hell of a time killing buggeh...
at the begining of the round buggy is like our fade, he do what he must, you can't say that any higher life form cary team... you can't win on your own. He kills rines becouse he need to...

Being an E.U. lerker myself I am more offensive.* At the beginning of the game I will spore and get the odd bite kill on single marines around the map only. Although if the team was more organised there should not be a marine alone outside of base. As soon as a second hive goes up I will spore when needed but primarily I will umbra and go for bite kills.
No jokes though I bite lerk like no other. I bite marines, walls, gorges, eggs, hives, the ground a few times. I mean if you can bite it I bite it a lot. Spore is frikkin useless unless you can't attack marines because there are 80 of them or something but I usually just fly my bugged **** in anyway and bite random stuff a few times and then pancake out like no pancake has ever been pancaked before. Then random nubs spam "omg" "WTH" "bugged" "nice rates" etc while I laugh in a vent some where with 10 hp then I fly back in and die and stuff it's totally awesome.
Buggeh ain't got **** on my mad bite skills. Of course he probably dies like 1/3 as often but that's half the fun. I mean playing it safe and sporing then swooping in for a bite kill after like a minute is great and all but I play for a high k:d, or d:k whichever works so I'm like biting all over the place.
Also : evilness lerking on lost in ENSL was so flipping hilarious I laughed for like an hour.

Hmm Evilness Lerking was really dissapointing against <3...it really was. There were so many times he would have been able to take out those damaged Marines but simply didnt. Well best example that you shouldnt get stuck in
In the EU, after 3.0 was released, just as adren fades changed to celerity fades, lerks did the same.
You still act as the support type, just by scouting a squad, sporing them once to get rid of armour 1, flying in with pancake, giving each marine a bite, then hoping your team is organised enough to get the skulks in to finish them off.
Of course, if you are skilled enough (buggy/scale/sub) you can solo it yourself simply by making most use of the 3rd dimension by doing "that up and down sh*t" ("lol, flying").

But what made me wonder is... they were absolutely impressed by Scales Lerking. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> More like certain shoutcasters are idiots.
If theres a team-tendency to be more cautious, its thinks like Knife/<3's pansy-master5000 fades. But even there making a generalization based on 2 high ranking teams flaws is silly - I'm sure theres plenty of EU fades with some balls out there, and maybe even some teams that don't abandon hives at the drop of a hat. A thin, silky almost ethereal hat.
Also, Gunner I hate you. Lerks are the only Kharaa with frickin' spores, a gauranteed res-destruction weapon with an area of effect - theres like no reason to not be using it constantly, biting or no biting. Sure you know that, but sometimes I still want to cockwrangle you when you could just be doublesporing with me instead of masturbating in your flipping vent with your 10 mother****ing hp.
From my experience playing obscure, maybe if your fades weren't such idiots and displayed a bit of caution themselves they'd stay alive more than 5 minutes and you might win an alien round <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Fana demonstrated a perfectly good reason for caution even in a match like that.

You can fire a spore cloud every 5 seconds (how long it takes for the spore cloud to dissipate), and still fly around a bit - with celerity. And ive seen buggeh not getting one kill and get soloed by Pill when he didn't even have full ammo (nsi semi final round 3 ns_veil). Your point is? It is easy to die as lerk no matter what your skill level is.
well it's not so dificult to die as any life form when your ping is 160 , well i'm thinking about how would you play with 160 ping ? for me as skulk player it's not so easy ,becouse i flew threw any marine ...

>_< when i lerk, i stay alive by either not being noticed glide/silence back bites.
by staying 400' away
or by being around a corner spore whoring
its really tempting to try biting as a lerk, but often? its just a skulk that has leap like mobility without hive 2.
stay at range? with spore/umbra and you can cost the rines a bomb in res or turn that good fade in your team into a frickin tank/crop shredder.
fades might get more kills, but lerks certinly have the capacity to win games. heck, while lerks might seem near useless when ha shows up, umbra is always there.
Don't get the wrong impression from watching one clan match, there are plenty of US lerks who are extremely agressive. Gunner, Nirvana, and Hobojoe definately come to mind, as well as a few others (me).
I don't think it's fair to make a generalized statement about an entire country's lerking style, especially with the limited familiarity between US clans and EU clans.
Skill wise i don't see much of a gap between top Euro and US lerks. While i'll agree that buggeh and the others are solid lerks, they make mistakes just as often as anyone else (see lazeye's comment above). All lerks are bound with the same limiting hp and adrenaline levels, which keeps the gap between players who are dedicated lerks somewhat small.
Also, don't blame your pings for deaths, it's kind of a copout like whining about rates etc. etc. everyone has to adjust their playing when people from different continents are competing.
slightly off topic, au lerks are very agressive , usually 1 spore and fly in with a pack of skulks and bite like mad, a lot also do a strange wing flap on the floor and kind of feign death as skulks fall around it rines relax and birdie cleans up.

or 2 spore clouds and about 70%
after two spores you cant really get in and fight any longer because you have too low stamina
Many other Cal-ns delta teams have very skilled biting lerks: Pill, gunner, Nirvana, hobojoe, lordy( lol not really), others that I'm forgetting.
