I mean... good for him, and all. Great to hear that blindness hasn't stopped him from gaming. He's having fun, and that's ok. I still don't think he's necessarily any good. That article gave me the impression that whoever wrote it couldn't tell a skilled player from a button masher.
But yeah, against anyone who actually knows how to play the game, I still say he's get his arse Kiliked.
Yes, let's all rant on about how a blind player would be beaten by someone with competitive knowledge of the game and an extra sense. The article didn't show him playing so we can't accurately judge his skill. But here's the deal: He's manuvering his character and doing attacks and all the things an average skilled player would do without flipping seeing anything. Ever.
Reminds me of the people who didn't find the one-legged DDR player impressive because he had 'an extra leg'. Please get over yourselves and understand that he's beating people blind. That's sort of a large handicap.
I dunno cron... I feel like I should be impressed and I agree with your sentiments but I'm just strangely lacking that 'omg' feeling or even the warm fuzzy feeling of seeing someone succeed against adversity. The only sensation I get is 'meh' :/
It's not like the time I read the story of someone who could beat people at streetfighter while playing with his feet :o
edit: On a fun note I'm usually rather unfussed about people's disabilities and most people I've met with some sort of handicap appreciate it; they're so used to being treated like children, people with mental problems or something fragile that just being treated like an every day person is nice. On the flipside that's probably why I'm unimpressed by this story :o
