    Seems like Wii means gone with the days when you can own you friend playing with one hand <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" /> Although if you can use those two things with one hand and still manage to own your friend, that would be awesome although it looks like it will be an impossible feat.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Actually, I bet you can, you'll just have to tape the wiimote to your arm and figure out a way to pull the trigger <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin-fix.gif" />

    and how is red steel? I heard the controls r really clunky. and AI is dumb.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    Turning is kinda clunky, but aiming works fairly well, which eliminates at least one part of the console FPS issue.
    The AI has its moments. It will try to flank you at times, but it really depends on the complexity of the area. In a straight hall, they can't do much. They'll duck behind something and pop out to shoot you once in a while. In areas that are too complex, they'll generally choose a super long convoluted route and you'll probably be finished with all their friends before they get within 20 feet of you. But in the areas that are just right, it works pretty well. Nothing insanely smart, but about standard FPS AI.

    on the subject of when the next shipment will come in, i read from the nintendo website that instead of doing several large shipments to everywhere they are going to do constant distribution to different places. they apparently have some plan for this, but my guess they would start off sending them to large cities, then probably college towns, then the smaller areas.

    Xbox 360 controllers are around 50 bucks, aren't they? I imagine PS3 controllers would be as well.
    As for the name, you can name yours anything you like. For example, I didn't want to call my [male-specific body part] a [male-specific body part], so I have named it <i>GUNGNIR, WEAPON OF THE GODS</i>.

    It is referred to by that exact monkier <i>every time</i>.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

    Gungir weapon of the gods <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/confused-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="???" border="0" alt="confused-fix.gif" />

    Lemme guess, you are the kind of the guy standing naked in front of the mirror stating:

    Simon says: It's biblical in scale! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />

    Edit:
    To stay on topic:
    If i buy a wii, i will moster certainly pick up super smash brother brawl along with the newest zelda release.
    Anything else goes into consideration, after the games have been released and rated multiple times <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

    While Trauma Centre is indeed awesome the second half of it was not fun at all.

    meh, I'm not fussed either way; as long as I get to play with a shiny scalpel :3

    In all seriousness though I enjoyed pretty much all the operations EXCEPT...

    - the 5 tumour one. It's unforgivingly hard, fairly early in the game and has been responsible for quite a few people I know just losing interest.
    - the one with the triangles and pins. god I hate that one.

    Those two aside, it was all dandy for me :p

    Ive suddenly had an urge to buy a Wii. I bet I wont get one before christmas due to the massive amounts of pre-orders. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    I dunno, Nintendo can pump them out like no-one business!

    I mean look at the US. They had a new set a few days later.

    Also, screw you GAME. Screw you and your Wii countdown timer. I had to get Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 in order to take my mind off it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

    Mehhh, decided to preorder a Wii from... ARGOS! they seemed to do the best deal (10 pounds off any game when you buy a Wii) and their site claims it will deliver my Wii on the 8th when it is released.

    What games for wii do u guys think i should buy. I've got my eyes on zelda: twilight princess, COD3, Marvel ultimate alliance. anything else im missing out on or is that enough?

    Zelda... it's a must-have for everyone, seriously. It should be your top priority.

    Wii Sports is crazy fun for what it is; ken(20banks) and I were up until about 3am playing the various games last night. The sound feedback in the remote is such an awesome touch, and for how heavily I've been using it I'd expect greater battery drain by now.

    Rayman kicks ######; I picked it up as a consolation prize when I couldn't find zelda but am having a blast with it. Just oozes personality and feels crazy polished. Those rail shooter sections with the plunger-shooting mayhem feel so awesome that I'd buy an entire game of just that.

    Going to try and find an extra controller while I'm out getting baby food and diapers today; it's disappointing to have to resort to hotseat games in the meantime. I can see myself picking up Zelda and Excite Truck soon; the former is a no-brainer and the latter, while mixed in the reviews category, still looks fun enough to warrant a buy. After that it's the painful wait for Mario Galaxy and the new Super Smash Bros.

    Re: recommendations - I'd personally recommend Marvel and COD3 on the 360 over the Wii if you were going to pick them up; that said if the wii is the only system you have at the moment there should still be good times to be had. I have seen mixed reviews of the control implementation for both games, though.

    Surprisingly, EA seems to have really built Madden well for the controller... if they get the NCAA series onto the wii with a similar setup, I might have to consider buying that.

    Also as for my Wii pre-order, it seems I got one of the last ones from Argos as they now no longer accept Wii preorders.

    Only if they sell anything. The Gamecube and N64 didn't. Their last real console success (as in huge profits) was the Super Nintendo. That has been a while.

    If the Wii allows me to play the GC Resident Evil and Eternal Darkness (it sounds so cool), then I'll get one.
    <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->I'm playing through Eternal Darkness now and it has a reasonably novel premise. The combat tends to get boring after a while, though.

    No dice on the remote/nunchuck or even the USB network adapter... boo, my miis need to mingle! Did snag a copy of Zelda though. Only played it for about 8 minutes last night before passing out after another night full of company and Wii Sports.

    I'm starting to wake up sore in the mornings. Like I've been... *shudder* <i>active</i> or something... Scary.

    As do I.

    Problem is, I'm at Uni and space is a under a teeny premium here.

    As much as I'd like to have my N64 it just isn't really possible.

    So the ability for my Wii to have these games would really make me happy. Oh and No Mercy. For when you want to put someones head through a table, or smack them silly with a stepladder.
