Back to tpoic: R4k off changes the game a lot. No team can say 'let this rt (or area)go, we don't need it'. It makes aliens much more performant, because in regular (long) games, marines kill 2-3 times more aliens than they got killed - mostly caused by skulks against HA's.
On the other side, if you disable RFK, aliens are faster than marines in sneaking to the res points (IF they work in a team) and also can get most times faster to the enemy RT's. RT's are getting more expensive to the team, because they need to DEFEND them. It changes a lot of tactics. It changes to a game of area controll, not point controll.
I have server's running R4K disabled, but if the teams are not balanced, the chance of getting a very short game is high. Ah yes, and it REQUIRES a lot more teamplay and communication even on publics. And that's the point: A lot of players don't like to habe voice enabled or something, so they can hear aliens faster - and won't hear a single word from their teammembers.
Belive me, the side effects on RFK are bigger than you think. There are plugins available to disable RFK - try them if you like. I found out you can disable RFK if you change some more rules (Alien start res) and if you have a balance system that works.

The res-system is really interesting, but skilled ppl aren't welcome regardless of their attitude and you'll also get that impression by reading their forums. If you are to good (K:D), you can't join any team without f**king up teambalance, thus the plugin will kick/ban you, even if you add a lot of communication and teamplay to the game.
You guys are missing the point - RFK is a much needed part of the game. Bypassing it via AMX plugins or whatever is comparable to having 5res shotguns or 10res lerks. It just doesn't work properly.

K:D? It isn't anymore based on K:D for over 2.5 years now. And yes, we force teams to similar strength and size. If you have got a problem with it (in any way), you don't need to play there. Only because you think the system is ###### up, there are enough players that don't think so. After all, it is still a public. Having only one 'pro' in one team can mess up the whole game.
And that it works can be seen on the bunch of games played every week with more than 60 minutes.
