One of the game play aspects I like about tremulous is the killing for upgrades. In NS, you can spawn endlessly with the basic stuff to save resources and shoot to protect your base from what I have observed. In tremulous, if you do the same, the enemy gets a huge attack and defence advantage. We call this feeding when one uber noob usually assults the enemy base alone and weak. For those that have fought tyrants (Aliens stage 3), fight them off with a rifle (Human stage 1) and you will fear them. Back when the games were more based on base location for defence, the best way to win was to put your base in an area where a tyrant couldn't get to it because of feeding.

As far as my opinion of the slower human speed, it is close to the average speed of most other games I play. Tremulous is fast and fast paced but the default maps are smaller and humans can only out run the dragoons, and only while stamnia holds. The only large maps are Karith and Transit Station. I would like to note that although Tremulous and Natural Selection originated from the same game, they took off in different directions. They are only about 30% the same.

yup, two different takes on the same thing with very different play styles :3

It should be noted you do still get resources for kills in Natural Selection, it's just that they're pretty minor compared to the chunk of change you can pipe from a resource node.

In NS it's possible to feed the enemy. Anyone who wanders off alone into an enemy base is just going to give them the free resources that you get every time you kill someone.

I made a list, but it just says what we all know. Though I do have to say that it is funny that I just read a thread about poor sportsman-ship over at the trem fourms. Steam needs to get guest passes for half-life soon so I can get my clan to try NS (they all went unreal).

Not anywhere close to how you can feed someone in Gloom/Trem.

You haven't seen me play much, have you?

And Kuszja, you can't seriously call someone a gamer if they don't even have Half-Life. Without HL, TFC, Counterstrike, Day of Defeat, or any of the myraid of amazing HL mods that match anyone's playstyle (Science and Industry, Natural Selection, Bumper Cars, Hostile Intent, Someplace Else, Move In!, Earths Special Forces, They Hunger, USS Darkstar, Sven Coop, Zombie Panic, Brainbread, Firearms, Pirates Vikings Knights, Vampire Hunter, Holy Wars, Front Line Force, The Specialists, or Digital Paintball, all of which I have played and enjoyed, plus others like HL Rally, The Trenches, or Battlegrounds), I can't imagine anyone could even begin to say they've played through some of PC gaming's greatest hits.

You were bored enough to name alot of modifications in which most people from other modification and gaming communities haven't heard of, well done.

Holy Wars is probably the oldest of them which is discontinued and i Don't see that having an impact on todays greatest hits at all.

Actually I only threw in Holy Wars because it was a ton of fun. All those others enjoyed their 15 minutes of fame, and some (Natural Selection, They Hunger, etc) got popular enough to warrant commercial sequels.
