[edit]whoa whoa whoa, did that just refute the existence of the stong nuclear force? WHAT?!?

Yep. Chick tracts are pure comedy gold. I especially love when they refer to Christian Science - an oxymoron since that particular sect is really neither.

They're especially ridiculous when you have a group of drunk Christians trying to hand out pertinent ones in the local non-straight quarter, and having passersby act in a more polite fashion.

I don't see how this is Chick's most rediculous comic...

I find his anti homosexual comics much more far fetched. Most of the science Chick is defending in that comic is acctually true (albeit greatly one sided and used fully to prove a disputable point)

That only would seem funny to someone somewhat religious and that their should be prayer in schools, etc.

I don't really find these funny simply for the fact that I have a friend who I suspect is writing these comic strips. He honestly feels he is being persectued by atheists and homosexuals, despite him not knowing any. I had been trying for years to get him better about his crap and to be more tolerant and open minded, then some **** go and blow up our buildings and all those years of making him not hate anyone not from the US = all gone...

Every have that friend whom you absolutely can't stand but they're as close (if not closer) than family, so you're still around them?
Fun to argue with him though....

The really funny thing about the whole Christianity Vs. Evolution thing is if you look at what scientists currently believe happened with the very beginning of life on this planet, it actually agrees with the bible. The first bit of RNA (the substance that makes DNA right, if I'm remembering correctly) supposedly came from.. dum dum dum... dirt. the ground. as in the same thing Adam came from. dum dum dum!!!!1111 OH NOESSSSSss. yeah. Pretty funny.

Actually, I did get the dubious distinction of seeing that happen. We'd wandered by and were handed tracts, one of the three doing the soapbox evangelist thing. The one who gave me the tract asked if I was male or female. When I assured her that I was male, we passed on.

Unfortunately, when we returned about three to four hours later, they were still there... and the one who had given me my quickly-discarded tract was drunk off her posterior. Slurring badly, weaving, the whole nine yards.
She stopped us again, and asked if I was SURE I was male. When I said yes this time, she had the urge to check... first grabbing my chest, then going for my groin. The only thing that saved all three of them from a severe 'reverse-***bash' was that her sober friend managed to pull her away before she made contact on the second one, begging us to put it out of our minds as she was drunk and weak and so on.

We passed a group of boitoys wandering the other way when we headed to our car, and got revenge... pointed them out, and said 'See them? They're handing out these things. Go have fun with 'em.' It was almost funny, as they didn't seem to mind being surrounded by a mob of cute guys. After all, none of the three were male... guess the men were too afraid to even venture into 'that' quarter. :b

It disturbs me that anyone would trust the information in these.

It's almost funny to read such misinterpretations of science, but then the sadness of it overwhelms the humor.

Now, if this was in the Discussion Forums, we could have an interesting discussion... except that there's that rule of no science vs. religion debates. Oh well.

The drawing is mildly skillful, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Roman Catholic Church the original religion derived from Jesus who made Peter the first pope? And that all the other christian protestant churches came about only as a result of oppression by English kings?

You are correct, but most of the psychotic protestants like this guy and my friend consider Catholics to not only be non-Christian, but to be as "pro-satan" (i.e. anyone not a christian) as those evil MUSLIMS and JEWS and DEMOCRATS...

Only the Chuch of England came from English kings, and it's because one particular English king felt like divorcing and marrying, and the Catholic Church wouldn't let him. Martin Luther started the Lutherans, the original protestant Christian religion. There have been many other protestant religions since then.

Just look at the very idea of creating two beings to propogate a society, or Noah's arch for that matter, two of a species is far too few to safely create a society without huge amounts of incest and deformity. You need about 200-300 of the same species for the species to propogate safely and sustain itself.

Conversly, there is no evidence for Creationism beyond a 2000 year old religious document written long after the fact.

Not only that - only two of any species would be killed by predators, disease, or natural disasters before they got a chance to procreate. And if they did, chances are that the whole of the population would eventually be wiped out before it reached a sustainable number. We would have been, essentially, an endangered species.

Blehh, that is the kind of christianity that makes me sick. The only reason that I can imagine anyone wanting someone else not to use thier immagination is that they don't want that person to think for themselfs. Chick has clearly never played a game of D&D in his life. Saying that if you play D&D your going to end up a witch is like saying that if you eat to much candy your going to end up a heroin addict.
