One of these days I will friken do a study, and prove to these imbecels that it is their lack of parenting that makes kids crazy, NOT Video Games/Music/Movies/Cloathes.
People suck nuff said.
I remember confusing Teachers when I explained to them that the only differences between me and the 2 kids from Coloumbine is that I don't have the $$ for a trenchcoat, and I don't worship hittler, oh, and my parents are intelegent.

Kid lures other kid in to alley FOR THE PURPOSE OF MUGGING HIM! Yah, all those muggers can now blame video games, right.
One parent says the kid is inherently evil (I pick that his parents are inherently stupid), the other promptly says (or gets quoted out of context): Well I know jack s*** about video games, but if they make people kill then they should be banned.
one of these days they will invent a device for stabing people in the face over the internet. and you know what that will prove? Personally, I want them to ban video games.
Why?
Because it'll have the EXACT same effect as the Alcohol Ban in America- even MORE alcohol will go around, through the black market. Riots will go on. Everything. It wouldn't last. I want it to happen on a wide scale. Lets show these bastards that if were going to be so freaking violent, that we'll probably use it too.

I find it amusing that no one (here) has corrected the article pointing out that Manhunt is for PS2 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Ugh is there even anything left to say? Don't the parent's recognize just how much this kid is lacking in sanity? He obviously place no value in human life. How could they not notice?
How about we all stop posting about this topic on a board no one in the real world ever sees - and go spam the CNN board?
Besides, everyone knows Manhunt = t3h suck, and the kid that bought it should be the one beaten down with a claw hammer. That game's far to restricted; at least in GTA games you can just drive around, or fly and explore and crap, not just "Hey, lets kill person A, then person B!"
Funny that violent <i>video games</i> are blamed for everything whereas politicians and television are obsessed with <i>real</i> war. Sure, it's the games' fault! Our society is going downhill because of ...... violent video games!
<!--QuoteBegin-UltimaGecko+Jul 29 2004, 10:28 AM--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (UltimaGecko @ Jul 29 2004, 10:28 AM)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> That game's far to restricted; at least in GTA games you can just drive around, or fly and explore and crap, not just "Hey, lets kill person A, then person B!" <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> Lol Owned. And so so true. It is extremely repetitive.
Anyway, spamming boards like CNN wouldn't get us anywhere, if you take this argument to the land of the adult/non-gamer adult, you have to have the big guns ready. The only way to gain any respect for what you argue about there is to present it in a mature manner and have a solid wall of facts to back you up. Spamming it would make gamers look bad.
But I get the general idea of what you meant by that.
Yeah I loved working in a PC/Console game store, it was great when you could just tell the tweenies to take a hike and leave GTA on the shelf for the proper people to buy.
I want to be the first person to kill someone by jumping up and down on them, and blame Super Mario Bros for my violent tendencies and why I ate a lot of magic mushrooms to make myself big.
thats really messed up, how can people disrespect other so little ? i mean... i don't like other people, but i don't kill them... and yes.. i like violent videogames.. including manhunt, but i would never in anyway hurt another person... hell i'm even scared of fighting for fun ( you know with your friends and stuff )
also, the reason it's videogames that gets blamed is that they are interactiv entertaintment, where as movies and stuff in passiv entertaintment... in games YOU make the choices, movies shows you the story and you have nothing to do with it...

This kid is such a noob, if he was inspired by Manhunt he should have found some violent Aryans to try to kill. See how "evil" this kid is when he tries to hammer a 350 pound bald racist with a sawed off. "OOo look at me I killed a 14 year old pansy, I'm so cool." inspired by manhunt my ****.
If you just feel like randomly bludgeoning someone to death with a hammer at least kill a hobo, that way you don't even get in trouble for it....not that I would know.

Just give it a few years guys, when all the puritists are too old/dead to run for political seats and the video game generation starts taking over. The fact of the matter is that most of these people are ignorant of video games. It is to a lot of people today as building models was, a way to relax, have time to think and have fun. It's just that building models didn't usually include shooting at someone with a Mac 10 or something. They see a kid playing a game like GTA and seeing that he does all this bad stuff in the game and think the game is warping his mind, when in reality, his mind is untouched by the experience. He does it because he gets to release some of that pent up anger in a controlled environment where no one can get hurt.
But it's pointless to complain about people that blame video games for violent children, it's been going on for centuries. People will always blame something as that it is easier then trying to find out why something happened and trying to fix that problem. Back in the early days, they blamed hard rock for violent kids, then D&D, then hard rock and D&D, then violent movies, now violent video games. It's just stayed on video games so long because it's been in the mainstream for so long, and it's so popular. Eventually: 1. Someone will disprove video games and it won't become a legitamite excuse anymore for disturbed individuals. 2. Something "much worse" will come about and that will start being blamed. 3. All these paranoid ignorant people will eventually die out and then the generations that grew up on video games will basically be in charge and all this will disappear. 4. Video games will be banned temporarily, then after much protesting, rioting, and possibley a large drop in the world economy (remember, video games are a BILLION DOLLAR industry, that's a large chunk to remove from an economy) they will realize that things weren't as bad with video games and give it a try.
I remember a teacher from HS talking to us about England, where pot was legal, then they made it illegal and the crime rate jumped through the roof. When they legalized it, it dropped down to normal levels. That's because the only way to get pot was to buy from a dealer and that was expensive, and most people didn't normally have the money to pay for it, so they stole it.
