A movie/TV is going to capture that image at 24FPS. That means that the shutter will open/close enough times to expose the images 24 times every second. This will result in blur, since a shutter of 1/24th of a second is fairly long in camera terms (1/125th of a second and longer will result in blur in an SLR just because the human hand can't hold it steady enough)
That blur is then re-broadcase over the TV, and since it's also going at the same framerate it result in a smooth image.

i have this suspicion that hl2 is going to end up being just like hl was. my friend payed 40 dollars for halflife, opposing force, and team fortress classic combined. i payed 10 dollars for half life. my suspicion is that hl2 will come with css, and then you can download hl:s and dod:s and all that jazz for free (i really hope)

I really do not know which one to take. I moved to China about one months ago, so to get a boxed version i'll just need to get a friend in Canada to ship it to me. As for the Steam packages, i'd like to have a box and thus a hardcopy of the game. Yet i do not currently have a dvd drive, so the normal box is the only way. The gold package looks sweet, but i'll have to see the price first. As for illegal copies (burnt with cracks), i really want to buy a real copy of the game, and absolutly want to play online (real cd key needed). Seems like it'll be either silver or normal box (gold if price is good and CE if i can get a dvd drive fast).
As for normal box, which one would you guys take, G-Man, Alyx or Gordon? I'd think about Alyx. Btw photos of the boxes were taken from E3 2k3 (saw them on city17.org something i think once, but i think the site went down many months ago)
I've already re-ordered the Collectors Edition from EB... but I'm seriously considering drop the pre-order and getting the Gold Package from Steam... it's just too sweet of a deal.
