I am absolutely terrible at making money in EVE (I'm lazy I guess), to the point where, while I made about 150m isk in a few days, it was more money than I had made in the last 4 or so months.

It doesn't take that many newbie ships/frigates to kill a hulk before CONCORD can kill you. :tmyk:
Is there a way to make this full-screen windowed like WoW can do? So I can do stuff on my other monitor to avoid staring at the tedium that is mining in EVE?
All I have to say is, after you endure the courier run NPC missions, the three day length tutorial that teaches you <i>everything</i>, buy a sexy ship, buy some sexy weapons, and go ratting for the first time...thats fun stuff. Multi ship combat is really, really fun, and the combat in this game in general is very well done. The different little gadgets at your disposal that do special things are <b>extremely</b> fun to toy with.
If I werent already completely consumed in WoW I would be eating EVE for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week and every second of my life. xD
The first few days might be boring, but once you push past them, its all fun from then on out!

Eternal happiness for 1,000,000 ISK? *thinks it over* I think I'll be happier with the 1,000,000 ISK.
I tried EVE, I really did! I gave the 14-day trial a go, and trust me, I played at least 3-4 hours a day for every one of those 14 days.
In short, I found it incredibly complicated. The tutorial did a decent job of showing you where the controls were, how to use the menus, and so on, but I just couldn't handle the flood of information coming at me all at once and no knowledge of what half it meant.
After reading a few reviews, I was very enthused about the game. I didn't go through the trial with an "you must impress me" mindset, I was more along the lines of "I'm already impressed, just show me how the magic works". I didn't get it. Too confusing, too much information, and a very steep learning curve.
I'll definitely give it another shot later. Hopefully I'll be able to find a few good "The EVE tutorial for Dummies" articles first. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" />

Eve isn't that complicated once you're done with your trial period, you'll know every single thing there is to know about Eve I promise <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> And yes, I did buy it
The only thing really keeping me from playing Eve now is my recent purchase of City of Heroes, two MMORPG's would be a little too much. (Probably not for me, but for my social life and studies.)
I played a 14-day trial a while ago and got really hooked. I really loved how much of the game's mechanics that was player controlled. I got involved in a newly created corporation, which was great fun, helping to advertise and raise funds for it. The only thing that kept me from continue playing at that time was being unable to pay the fee, otherwise I probably still would have been hooked.

I plan on buying it once the lag problems are sorted out.
Turns out a friend of mine at work plays it and i didn't even know and he's very high level. The skill he is training at the moment takes 4 Months 12 days :s
Now completely hooked to the game , and with my properly named character now. I plan to pay for it this time (that'll be the first game I buy in 4 years)
I take my time to enjoy the open-endedness of Eve. You can be all at once helpful and cruel , honorable and mean , friendly and antagonistic. Truly , this living galaxy is the best virtual reality you can find. The world itself is not unforgiving - players are , and they are in control. It seems like those reaching the top would succeed the same in real life.
I tried two times this game but i m afraid i'm not patient enough to spend time on that kind of game. I tried almost all mmo games, even WoW but none of those games didn't bored me after a few days. That's a pity bacause what i ve read about EVE is just the definition of the kind of game i'ld love playing a lot at. But i must be in need of instant action <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad-fix.gif" />

EVE isn't instant, sorry to disappoint. It is a good game, but it is also a slow game, where the planning and decision making you make hours and days and weeks and months beforehand are very rewarding in the long run.
I tried to play EVE Online two times. Both gave up because didn´t know anyone who play EVE (lied, known one person but it gave up too lol). It gets really a boring game without friends playing together. I could never get into a corporation and see the game what it really is.
My friend and I were talking about Eve the other day. We decided that if we ever played, our ultimate goal would be to build a Titan class ship (possibly 2), get a support fleet, and move from sector to sector destroying everything. Cleansing the entire galaxy, one system at a time.

I don't know if I'm going to continue beyond the trial, doesn't seem like super amounts of fun yet. We'll see.

I haven't lagged after the recent hardware upgrade, so..

Apparently the lag from where i live is still pretty bad, hopefully the upgrade at the end of this month will solve that problem.
