In more relevant [to me] news, I made 12m today by selling all the crap I forgot to sell 8 months ago when I quit. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile-fix.gif" /> So now instead of being penniless and devoid of any ships worth using, I'm 12m out of the sink hole and relocated to where my corpmates are.

Well. I will have to look up sweetcaise Jefferson.
I just got into high sec for the first time in at least a few months, as i'm amazed t report that there seem to be decent people out there playing EVE. no one was trying to gank nubs, and the wrecks were being salvaged. I saw minutes old player being given isk.
When I moved from Syndicate to Insmother, I reprocessed pretty much all the modules I had sitting around and got about 60m from the minerals, and these were at really bad prices (as in buy orders set 50-75% below the normal price).
I want to sell my main character I've had for awhile, mostly because I don't really like being Caldari (Blasphemy!) and just feel like starting off fresh again. Also for the fact that I can probably get quite a bit of ISK for a 13 mil SP character, that way I wouldn't have to worry about money for awhile.
13 mil SP, mostly in elite frigate outfittings, and alot of stuff in HAC as well. How much should I expect to be able to net? Im to lazy to go post a price-check on the eve forums right now.
Maybe Ill make an industrial character.. hmmm...
Edit: Just watched the titan video, what a lame explosion. Also: They really need to remove the twitching from the titans when they get shot. It's okay that smaller ships get knocked around when hit by missiles, but anybody inside the titan when it did that would be turned to mush against the ceiling/floor.
it's hard to fathom veteran players flying around in frigates. If I could fly a battleship or better, I'd feel like I wasn't making any progress if I was flying around in a frigate. yes, I know they're important because big ships can't really hit small ships, but geez, might as well just be a newbie forever then...

The second you get shot by tech II nuetrons from an assault frigate your mind would be changed. I can reliably rip apart anything short of a tier 2 BS (Soloed a scorpion, he never did more then 30 dmg to my shields). The neuts can hit for up to 200-300 each, making 1200 a volley. Cruisers only take maybe 30 seconds to destroy, with BC being slightly higher. Of course if you fit a NOS Im totally roasted. It's extremely satisfying though to torch a ship 6x your size while taking 1-5 dmg a shot from him while orbiting at like 500 meters.
nice, probably cheap compared to flying a big ship too.
is there any 'unowned' space out there? that is, if you fly out hundreds of systems, will there be systems no one ever goes to? systems for up-and-coming corps to claim? or is there a player presence everywhere?

After frequenting the sell forum for abit, I'd say 2 bil.
so I just decided to start over, because my several days old pilot's stats weren't nearly combat-oriented enough. I started a new char that's very willpower/perception heavy and proceeded to try to figure out how to transfer my previous char's crap to my new one. I put up a unit of ammo for like 2mil and bought it with my old char. then I put up my destroyer for my new char to buy.
then I realized, there's some sort of mechanism in place to prevent you from doing this. my 2 mil went to some unknown stranger, or an npc, and my destroyer was bought by some unknown stranger or NPC. Yeah, instead of just telling me "you can't buy things from your own account" it just ate my life savings instead. way to scare off new players.
At least you know how the market works now <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" />
if the items are at the same station, no matter what you pay for the item, it will always go to the seller who put up his item for the lowest price.
Also, you probably don't want to hear this, but balanced attributes are ftw. I'm spec'ed for pvp, and about 40% or so of my SP have intelligence or memory as primary attribute, meaning that my high willpower is mostly wasted. General rule for a combat char is Perc >= Int > Mem ~= WP > Cha.
I can fly an all t2 bs, but mostly fly an inty or a t1 cruiser when we're not doing fleet ops. They're more fun, and cheaper as well. That, and my vaga is too pricy compared to the benefit imo, at least in >3-4 people gangs <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />

Zombeh, send a convo my way in game (Michus Danether) or join my corporation's public communications channel (aristotle_public) and my corpmembers will be able to help with any questions you might have. There's a lot to know about eve, and it takes a long time to figure it all out.
I'm going to agree with Pip1 as well, I'm a memory/intelligence heavy character going on 1 year now, and as it turns out, I like PVP a lot more then I do production. Whoops! Oh well, now I have to suffer basically. If I was more balanced, It wouldn't be a problem because there are lots of mem/intelligence skills that translate into combat, and sure there are some percept/willpower skills that translate over into production or mining (mining barge level 5 for instance)
For long term enjoyment of EVE, balance is the way to go (but don't get a high charisma <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tounge.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tounge.gif" /> )
and about the transferring stuff from one char to another... That's what CONTRACTS are for! you can specify an individual that can accept your contract (your new character) and you don't have to worry about isk/anything.
Also, for everybody. EVE is about goals. That new battleship, that new outpost, that new alliance, that new corp, that new carrier for the corp, and my all time favourite:
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.
I have "The Starving Beaver" which is my shuttle to bring my small fleet of ships from Spacestation to Spacestation (very time consuming).
Then I have my mining ship, "The Tub II" (a Caladari Bantam frigate) - (the first one exploded when I tried to use it as a Battlecruiser. Bad idea. EAT MINING LASERS! *pewpewpewEXPLOSION*).
Then I have Explodey (a Caladari Krestel Missile Frigate) - my experimental missile barge that's armed to the teeth with a variety of missiles. (Four launchers firing four different missile types each).
And then I have "The Pointy Selma" (a Caladari Merlin) - which is also armed to the teeth with twin 150mm railguns and dual Bloodklaw missile launchers.
I wanted to roll a mining alt with the new starting options to get some cash because my main (pirate) char has no ships and no money. I logged in, after 8 months of no subscription, to find that the alt was still in some carebear mining corporation.
That 20m "loan" should keep my coffers a little warmer while I delete the Fuzzy Sam character and re-roll a better miner <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" />
As it is I'm flying around a kestrel [not a krestal as Sid said], but I'm trained up for a Drake. Once I get 60m [including weapons and mods] I should be able to tear it up as a pirate again.
Sid, that merlin is useless. You're a caldari, stick to missiles. How is the kestrel outfitted? Use malkuth rocket lauchers and gremlin rockets in all 4, should do fine. Join a proper corporation asap, they'll be able to help you out on the right direction, even if it's a carebear mining corp.

Just so everyone knows. Caldari can use guns too, in fact Caldari have the best sniping railgun ships in the game, for example the Rokh, the Moa, the Harpy (T2 merlin) and even the ferox has it's hand in the sniping jar.
The main reason nobody likes using Rails over Missiles is because missiles are a lot easier to use and are FAR less skill intensive. It's easy to be decent in missiles, but very hard to be really good. Whereas it isn't easy to be decent in rails but after enough time and training, you get very good with them and land far more damage more often from further ranges then you could with missiles.
Harpy (t2 merlin again) can <i>easily</i> get 90km Optimal range using 4x 150mm T2 railguns with Spike S ammunition. 90km! 90KM!!!! Doing about 40 damage per gun with a 3second Rate of Fire. Lots of pew pew, with some really decent tracking so you'll land plenty of hits (so long as you're more then 30km away from the target and it's not an interceptor)
And we're talking about a T2 frigate here. The T2 cruiser equivalent, the Eagle. (T2 Moa) lands hits from 150km+ easy. Then there's the Rokh (Battleship with 8x turret slots and some nifty optimal range bonuses to hybrid turrets) that thing will get about 200km+ out of the box I think.
Bottom line. Caldari <i>can</i> use guns instead of missiles. And they can use them well, but Missiles do certainly have an advantage (No cap to fire. Don't need many skills to use effectively, never miss, etc) but they do have drawbacks as well.
If it's not already clear, I very much enjoy using railguns on my caldari ships. And as soon as I get T2 medium railguns trained up, I am going to fit a Sniper Moa Of Doom.
An Eagle with tech II 250mm rails can easily hit 200km with Spike M as well; it's what I used to do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink-fix.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink-fix.gif" /> .
