Ah thanks for the explanation about the hive spawn. I was confused about that change... whether it meant hives would still have to "build" but have full health during the process or whatever.
Still, the siege change will dramatically affect my confidence when placing alien buildings.
I always though siege cannons were *quite* too powerful. It spelled doom as much as fades did whenever they appeared. Hopefully the patch can curb the siege rushes... but I certainly wonder if fades (especially with umbra support) are controlled enough or not.

Now it will b very hard to destroy offence chambers. At the beginning of the games aliens will easy disrupt marines with few offence chambers placed outside marines bases. How can you spot an offence chambers without getting hurted? Sometimes it can happen behind a corner but this will slow down marines a lot. Even if this siege modification is funny because more "realistic" it is quite unbalancing. Bye.
I wonder how the siege gun targeting would work. Wouldn't it be interesting if the marines could paint structures they wanted sieged? Just yank out a little infrared painting projector and aim at the hive! This would be nifty, and make sieging much more accurate, yet limited.
Well, as many others have said, that would just make using the siege a little more annoying but essentially the same as it was in 1.03. Run into hive, parasite al targets, then place siege and death ensues while you sit back. From the 1.04 changes, I would assume that this is not what the developers wanted.
