The National Violence party, after running some propaganda through the race, has decided to try to increase its voting influence by adding the Greater Ambush Association back into the party. After suffering a falling-out a few updates back, the sandsharks were kicked out of the party due to their ambush philosophy, a bone of contention among the different candidates. However, sources report, the NVP has extended an olive branch to the Ambushers, who have been suffering in the election so far.
Following a wave of successful propaganda campaigns, the EPCA and its candidate, the reefback, have surfed their way to the top of the polls. "It's an honor to know so many fish out there support the one true party" the reefback said in an official announcement given last night. However, the popularity of the party has drawn the ire of the SAHP, which trails the EPCA closely in the polls. Running a series of propaganda posters, the SAHP reportedly also called attention to the acceptance of tiger plants in the reefback's community, a fault they stated was blatantly against the EPCA's message of cooperation. At press time, the mesmer candidate was... hypnotizingurging his supporters to get out and show opposition to pro-reefback media.
Aforementioned SAHP propoganda:
The Biters of the Greater Communist shoal party, making bold strides in their campaign (if not in the polls), have just announced the controversial decision to assimilate the Spadefish (and the Society for Advancement of Small Fauna) into the Greater Communist Shoal. "If it is good for the shoal, is good for everyone" The biter spokesfish reportedly said in a state-wide government-enforced announcement. Following the assimilation, the upstart Hoverfish candidate reportedly joined the campaign, following the statement "Eh, Socialism's basically just communism anyways." At press time, the Biter high council was reportedly muttering something about "owning the means of production for the food chain."
official biter campaign propoganda, wet off the presses:
In lesser news, an ideological spat has broken out between the Foreign Migration Minority Advocates and the Neo-Luddite Advocation Association. Following the decision of scuba steve to erect several structures under the grand reef's coral arch (he supposedly "Needed a bigger penthouse- the one in the safe shallows just doesn't feel massive enough."), the Crabsquid held a rally protesting what he called "the construction of an unsightly blemish" in the biome. After rally cameras went dark for... mysterious reasons, the Crabsquid's followers staged a massive protest outside of the seabase. After peaceful negotiations collapsed, several EMP blasts were reportedly fired. The outcome of the skirmish, or its effect on either campaign, is still uncertain.
"Okay, I recently volunteered to be a public spokesperson for N-LAP, and to my surprise the higher-ups accepted me. So I'm headed to the Red Grass now, and I want to sway the opinions of people there because this election has been very much in favour of the Reefbacks."
If you care at all about the environment in the Deep Grand Reef then you will vote for N-LAP! Due to a slight issue twenty or so years ago, the reef hasn't been the same. The Degasi crashed there and its survivors built two bases in the surrounding areas. The Crabsquid surrounded one of these two areas, and watched as these humans infected the land with technology and brought a monster to the reef! Technology is dangerous, and yes, the Reefbacks are running a very convincing campaign in the favour of climate protection, but they weren't there when the Degasi crashed, they don't know what these humans are capable of. If you care about the environment then surely you must vote for N-LAP, as we wish to concentrate on polishing the reef of technology and rubble. We have already succeeded in getting rid of the Deep Grand Reef abomination, thanks to government funding from the Peepers last term, who we still have a great deal of respect for. Now, if you want 4546B to be a better place, all in all, you should vote N-LAP, and rid the reef of all of this taint and rubble!
Also, we have heard about the claims thrown the Reefback's way, and all I can say is that they are completely sound. The EPCA are outright hypocritical, and those Reefbacks lug around those tiger plants like they are nothing. Not something I find too flattering.
There have been some questions about the events in the Deep Grand Reef lately, with the rally and all. All I can really say is that the events that occurred do not reflect the party's best interests in any way, it was an extreme attempt to sway the votes, and the culprit has been dealt with accordingly.
If anyone has any questions about N-LAP and our campaign, do just ask me.
In an official press release yesterday afternoon, the Environmental Protection and Cooperation Agency (EPCA) hit back at claims made by the Surprisingly Appealing Hypnosis Party (SAHP) that the reefback's long-standing association with the much maligned tiger plant was at odds with the party's official stance of promoting peace and cooperation. "The EPCA recognises that all species, whether predators or prey, are deserving of respect and dignity. None of us would exist if we each did not have a unique and essential role to play in our shared ecosystem. Recent scare campaigns from the SAHP reflect nothing less than a continuation of the divisive and toxic ideologies of inter-species hatred which have so insidiously divided this biome in the past. It is disappointing and telling that the SAHP has chosen to adopt an attitude which differs little from that of the cultish National Violence Party who continue to shamelessly fuel unbridled opposition to equity and unity during these difficult times."
Pictured: A reefback volunteer of the EPCA carrying a political banner near the grassy plateaus biome.
This view has been subsequently criticised by the Neo-Luddite Avocation Party (NLAP) who have argued that the stance of the EPCA is no longer valid. "The EPCA seems oblivious to the fact that our ocean has been repeatedly assaulted by alien species, first the precursors and, more recently, humans." A NLAP representative stated. "This is not a united ecosystem, it is one which has been unequivocally disrupted. Now is not the time for complacency. It is the time to take a long, hard look at the injustices which have been committed against the species of this biome and to stand up for their rights."
The SAHP said it would release a further statement regarding the burgeoning hostilities between itself and the EPCA, but wished to remind the general public that in every single face-to-face poll, 100% of the voters voted 100% for the SAHP.*
The party officials also wished to remind the general public that they believed the election should remain about the policy issues, reminding the electorate in a televised ad that "A vote for the SAHP is a vote for [at this point most watchers report their vision blurring and the audio sounding very far away] _______, ______, and _____. [reportedly, the contents of the previous phrase included the innermost political desires of each viewer. Results as to the actual words varied]"
Before the party officials signed off, they noted that the SAHP did agree wholeheartedly with the EPCA's accusations against the NVP, though they did believe the message could be toned down a little (due to the sensitive subject of their nominee's carnivorousness).

anyone can do this if they want, it's not like these parties are dictatorships
The Reefbacks do not know anything about saving the environment. They, again, were NOT there when the Degasi crashed and this technological dispute began. The Mesmer were closest, but still not close enough to know the full effects of the Degasi crew on the reef, and those reefbacks were off in the Grassy Plateau. And now accusations have arisen that they have been conspiring with the NVP; accusations they have tried to diffuse, but let's face it, they failed. All they did was make excuses regarding the Tiger Plants, and didn't really show any evidence when it came to why they were there. If they care about the creatures on this planet, and they wish to carry them on their backs, they wouldn't also carry one of the most deadly flora on 4546B. The two aren't compatible in N-LAP's eyes.
LATEST (it's an edit guys) : N-LAP have began their campaign in the Grassy Plateau! They have disposed of one technological structure in the area and have began disposing of pieces of Aurora scrap metal, seemingly catering to smaller fauna. Here are some pictures onlookers took of the event:
"The Reapers and Sandsharks were taking care of the Aurora since the beginning, eliminating foreign threats. If you care for your safety and security, vote for... The National Violence Party."
Earlier this evening, a representative from the National Violence Party made a statement on their current placement in the race.
"We are happy to see that we are improving steadily," Reaper representative Bonecruncher stated, "But we can always use more votes. Reefbacks aren't going to protect you like we can. No foreign policy beats ours!"
When questioned about the controversial decision to re-include Sandsharks into the party, Bonecruncher said,
"It is far better that we can put our differences aside for the greater good of the Party. There's one thing we both have in common: we were both taking care of foreign threats while the rest of the parties twittled their fins."
The NVP has been determined not to drop out of the race, and Bonecruncher is confident that the inclusion of the Greater Ambush Association will help them achieve that.
Recently this morning, a protest was taking place by Reefback members of the EPCA on the decision of the National Violence Party to encourage Stalkers to gather metal rubble that landed in the Safe Shallows from the recently crash-landed Aurora spaceship.
"Stalkers rarely enter within the confines of the Safe Shallows," One protester declared, "If they are allowed to enter the Safe Shallows, it could potentially ruin the ecosystem!"
Although valiant, the protest was not officially claimed by the EPCA, suggesting that these Reefbacks have been protesting on their own accord. Though the EPCA has yet to comment on the issue and confirm or deny this accusation. It wasn't too long before members of the National Violence Party came by, once again by their own accord seemingly. Three Reapers were said by the protesters to have been harassing the Reefbacks, but they claim that they were there to stop them from going further into the ecosystem.
A protesting Reefback, lurking near the Safe Shallows within the Creepvine Forest
"They were carrying various non-native plants and animals to the Safe Shallows," One Reaper said, "Some potentially invasive plants, which would ruin the ecosystem, and furthermore endanger the lives of all, not just members of the NVP."
When asked to justify their position on defending the actions of the NVP to allow Stalkers to gather metals from the region, the Reapers were all in unified agreement.
"It may seem hypocritical," Continued the same Reaper, "But the Stalkers love using the metal they gather for their nests, I think. They put the technology which would otherwise ruin the flora in the Safe Shallows to good use. A small risk for a big reward. However, these protesters threaten the ecosystem without even realizing it."
It wasn't long after the Reapers arrived that things turned violent. The Reapers attacked the Reefbacks, as the protesters claimed, but the Reapers have a different story;
"Two of them had Tiger Plants on their back," The Reaper claimed, "They fired at us and we retaliated as true Reapers would. Not only is the Tiger Plant dangerous, but an invasive and dangerous species to the Safe Shallows."
This is not the first time the Tiger Plant has been used as a means to demonize the EPCA, but now that the Tiger Plant has threatened a Reaper, who is to say what other species it could harm?
But the question still remains; should Stalkers be the ones cleaning up the Safe Shallows?
The NVP have N-LAP's support. We agree that this nullified technology should be put to better use than creating a reef for small fauna to enjoy. Of course the outright hypocritical statements made by the EPCA are absolutely diabolical. Importing tiger plants will not be endorsed by any member of N-LAP, or any true EPCA supporter. And now news has come through that one of these plants harmed a Reaper, who attacked the Reefback carrying the plant. I'm not sure how to think of the NVP at this point in time, but as it stands they are allies who fight for the same cause.
I had some things to say about SAHP too, but... dammit, I forgot what they were...
(NVP representative Bonecruncher on Boarder Conflict, Re-population Efforts, and the FMMA (Foreign Migration Minority Advocates))
Bonecruncher:
"Even after all that has happened with the virus and the shipwreck, there are STILL concerns about the boarder issue between the Sand Dunes and Grand Reef. I will first and foremost assure each and every one of you that the NVP populate the Dunes because that is where we LIVE! We Reapers make homes there, and without those Dunes we would be out of our homes and pushed away into the Mountains, or worse, into the Dropoff. Attempts to relocate the Reapers due to "boarder concerns" is a myth created by the EPCA and the Public Health/Safety Party. They are simply discriminating against the predator that is on the top of the food chain in their respective areas. Their carnophobia will not be tolerated by my party and nor should your vote continue to support them!
Onto other, actual important matters. The efforts of my party to help prey repopulate is going fairly smoothly, though it won't be easy. Stalkers have been encouraged to breed less frequently to compensate. Stalkers have thus far been fairly cooperative with the Party in this regard. Though this could bring about the idea of Selective Hunting, which would mean top-chain predators like myself would go into areas with high Stalker population in order to even the food chain between predator and prey. Though that has not been an issue as of now so that will be put on halt. My Party has been very busy taking apart the ship and sending them back to the Dunes and the Dropoff. Sandsharks have also been very helpful with uncovering foreign objects and helping us take out any unwanted alien lifeforms. Stalkers have also been using the salvage for their own benefit, to keep themselves busy by building nests and such with the salvage, which can put those hoards to good use. Right now these efforts are entirely optional, everyone is a volunteer in this program. Should our Party be elected, we will double the efforts of the NVP in clearing out the Reef, and we can easily have the surface cleaned up in six months and the Aurora dismantled in two years, then we can work on expanding and reviving the lost ecosystem. Note that Reapers can eat Stalkers and Sandsharks, but for the sake of team effort, Aurora is a "safe zone" so long as they help clear the mess. Otherwise outside of that zone all food chains go accordingly.
Lastly, I would like to make note of the FMMA. We hate them. They are destructive to our enviroment and cannot continue to thrive on this planet. Thus they must leave the sea onto nearby islands or die. Simple as that. We will NOT TOLERATE foreign threats and aliens inhabiting our seas with the technology used.
If you want a Party that can get things done, that can do what needs to be done, vote for the National Violence Party. We will not stand for cooperation with threatening forces like other parties would."
In a press release just now, the first in over several days, Scuba Steve made an appearance in front of a live audience. Outlining his policies in detail for the first time in the campaign, he also remarked that he supported the EPCA and its message of cooperation, citing his own desire to keep a cooperative and cooexistant environment. "The minority candidates should stand with the EPCA, considering the dangerous threat posed to us by a hostile majority rule." Steve went on to say that his fluency in foreign Alterra tech and technological prowess (surmounting all but the PH/SP's candidate's) could be used for good.
Steve made an official apology on behalf of the Alterra "Aurora Catastrophe," a contraversial move that had been encouraged by countless natural planetary denizens. He went on to say that he wholeheartedly supported assisting in the deconstruction of the Aurora, asserting that Alterra fabrication tech could accomplish what the NVP had proposed in half the time. He went on to suggest his usefulness in the recent disease outbreak gripping the planet. "Imagine, the use of transfuser identified and mass produced Caraar vaccines." Said Steve. It is unclear what the stance of the PH/SP is on this issue so far, considering their outright rejection of Steve's legal status on the planet. Since the ousting of the Precursor government several election cycles ago, the PH/SP has maintained the aging opinion of total embargo against immigrants, enforcing the view with the G.U.N. technology.
Steve dealt with allegations of environmental disruption in passing: "My alleged participation in biomic destructions - if the theories possess any factual basis - I wholeheartedly regret. However, the cost of progress to a better future is not nonexistent." Steve closed his statement with the additions that if anyfish wanted to see his proposed plans in action, they would need to support him in the polls. He also stated that if Alterra ever found him on this godforsaken wonderful planet, a massive trade empire could flourish with proper negotiation.
Following Scuba Steve's statements, Bonecruncher was interviewed by Peeper.
"A lot of what he said was pretty much outright fabrication, I mean, I've never heard someone claim such absurd claims. We have proof of his ecological destruction, I can show you before and after pictures.
Here is the before picture, taken before Steve was around... Now compare this...
To that. Same spot, slightly different angle, but you get the idea. Even Creepvines aren't safe, just take a look at these ones here:
Before...
I don't think I need to say more. Regardless, his eco-friendly face is but a facade, a huge exaggeration. And you know why he gathers these materials; its so he can build the things that he needs in order to remove the Aurora and deconstruct it. I mean, I don't know much about his tech, but if doing things faster requires sacrificing a part of the community, a part of the ecosystem, damaging it further... then why would we even bother? We're an ecosystem, not an empire. Our job is to keep it thriving and balanced in equilibrium, not negotiate like some nation, like the Precursors, like these new aliens... like people like Steve. I'm not sure why he's still even running to be perfectly honest. That's why I criticise every group that stands by him; they're turning from maintaining an ecosystem to running a nation... I mean, this talk of "trade" and all this sort of stuff is not part of a natural ecosystem."
Peeper: What do you suggest we do with Steve then?
Bonecruncher:
"He needs to either stay on land or die. He's not a natural part of this ecosystem, and trying to work him around it is far too much work and worry when he can live on an island and leave well enough alone. That's my take. We don't need him, we don't need his help, we just need him to stay out of our way."

I feel like us earthlings have no place in alien politics and scince scuba Steve is the only human in the election. All votes from Earth (or terra) should go to him. Also I feel like the crabsnakes should be head of the ambush commity and not the stalkers
Also I am not saying this because I suggested the idea of scuba Steve (check the last election) (I also suggested the reefback)

The crabsnakes were considered for the heads of the GAA but certain... civil disasters in their biome resulted in a breakdown of local government. Currently the Allied Small Crabsnake Militia have gone silent on all communication, and the only reports as to the Civil War among the Big Crabsnake Monarchy and ASCM have been relayed through eyeeyewitness accounts from fleeing refugees.
The PH/SP is strong. The PH/SP is more technologically advanced than any other party. The PH/SP has one goal, and one goal only- focus on the health of 4546B. The PH/SP will focus on the one most urgent problem. Cleanliness is Health. Health is Safety.
Serious question; who do people have such a boner for Reefbacks?
The themes of Cooperation and Cooxistance offer a fantastical alternate reality that American Citizens can escape to in order to avoid the reality that our nation has rejected these principles. That's my theory anyways.

I have a headache whenever I read this thread and there seems to be posts missing that were there before
Earlier this evening, a representative from the National Violence Party made a statement on their current placement in the race.
It wasn't long after the Reapers arrived that things turned violent. The Reapers attacked the Reefbacks, as the protesters claimed, but the Reapers have a different story;
This is Peeper from Shallow 10 News, signing off.
I had some things to say about SAHP too, but... dammit, I forgot what they were...
*eyes goes blank*
...keep my vote the way it is. I have no intention of changing it...
*eyes return to normal*
Wait... what..?
[I take this way too seriously xD]
No one dislikes your enthusiasm, please continue.
All Glory for The Mesmer
Oh and the other message:
The saph will lead us all to glorious victory
Also I am not saying this because I suggested the idea of scuba Steve (check the last election) (I also suggested the reefback)
The crabsnakes were considered for the heads of the GAA but certain... civil disasters in their biome resulted in a breakdown of local government. Currently the Allied Small Crabsnake Militia have gone silent on all communication, and the only reports as to the Civil War among the Big Crabsnake Monarchy and ASCM have been relayed through eyeeyewitness accounts from fleeing refugees.
Protect. Preserve. Prosper.
The themes of Cooperation and Cooxistance offer a fantastical alternate reality that American Citizens can escape to in order to avoid the reality that our nation has rejected these principles. That's my theory anyways.
