    Heh. I don't know what program you're using to unwrap your mesh. Grab lithunwrap. It's the best program I've found so far. Just select a group, and unwrap it based on the shape of that group to decide what unwrapping method you want to use. It does a really good job and isn't that complicated at all. Find a good tutorial, or I can offer one.

    BECAUSE IT CAN! its really useless, like i said before, on a starship as your not gonna be blasting something thats 50 yards away. A carrying handle or RIS flip up sight would be much more handeh! (hint hint if some body who is making 1.1 reads this)

    Im having problems in Lithunwrap. using Jamil's TUT he gave me, when i try to assign materials to a group or what ever, they dont show up on the image preveiwer so i dont know if it working or not <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> this is realy bugging me! can sum one help?

    oh and wen i open a model in Lithunwrap the model appears as a little box in the top left hand coner of my screen, i know how to view the model but it means going into UV mapping all the time and clicking on Decal or sumthing different. i dont know if its that what is givng me the problem i dont know.

    Can some one pls advise me on what to do. Dont ask for the model so u can mesh it ur self, cuz that wont help me. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    For weapons, I generally prefer doing things the long-winded way and using MS3D's texture coord editer.

    The tutorial shows you how to assign a material to a group. It should show up on the preview automagically, or maybe you just need to set it, by right clicking on the preview window and going textured->smooth.

    To assign a texture to a group, select the group by clicking on it then going uptop to the Select->All. Then go to Materials->Modify. Add a material if necessary and click the assign button when you're done.
