The bots need a random jitter factor that is based on their skill level; this is how other bots work. It's easiest to see in Quake 3. Start up a Quake 3 server with bots, then spectate the bots and watch them shoot people.
I think that's what bot_aimingfactor does, thats what it says in the readme, but it doesn't seem to have an effect. I wonder if it's coded into the bot's skill level and bot_aimingfactor has no effect? But I don't think I've seen poor level bots miss either. I'll test it out.

I just want to see them climb a freekin ladder ........... I would be happy if they could and would do that at a minimum along with building there hives!
The current version the bots will build the hive but they will not climb a ladder and if the bot is a skulk .....Forget it he refuses to walk the wall to get outa his base he will only follow the waypoint that says climb the ladder but he will just stand at the bottom of the ladder and walk and walk and walk.......same with marine bots they will build etc......but give them a ladder they need to transverse and its game over............

EDIT: Just remembered I've seen a lot of waypoints done by people where they have a ladder waypoint at the bottom of a ladder and a normal one at the top, I think this could be the problem. Also some wallclimb into vent routes have a wallclimb waypoint leading to a crouch waypoint, I think this could be a problem but I have trouble getting bots to test my waypoints. I would like to ask that if the waypoint editing system is changed please make it like NNBot's system except keep the manual create and remove paths, then it would rock.
I recently got Rocket CrowBot and I found out if you give your own waypoints to the maps, then it will look like your pc bacame one smart opponent.
The problem with them and the ladder is that you should place a waypoint at the bottom and top of the ladder only if your sure your stuck to it, if you enabled (waypoints on) you should notice that it's yellow colored. Make sure you do the exact same thing at the top of the ladder BUT STILL HOLDING ON TO IT. Make sure if your placing waypoints on twin ladders (meaning side by side ladders) make them climb only one side of the ladder, otherwise you will get ridiculos results. Believe me, I know.
To put it in short for ladders : Yellow, good. Blue, bad.

n/m, got the newest version and it works good. But, when i add 12 bots to my server im getting 200 and higher ping... even on a lan game. WTH is going on?
I would like to see the AI of the Drone Skulks the Gorge can create increased! Well as for the map bug, id need to download it to check it out.
As for the config thing, if you search through any bot files for the string "Troy" you'll get nothing, I've never wrote "Troy" anywhere so thats obviously something else thats causing a config.cfg overwrite.
Ok about the Troy thing- Someone else was using my computer and changed my name to Troy without telling me, and because they changed there name through the 'Customize' menu in NS, it got rid of my custom config. I just assumed it had to do with the version of RCBotNS i had just installed. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo--> And the map that doesn't work is <a href='http://ns.admins.us/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=139' target='_blank'>here</a>.
There seems to be a problem with that maps "texdata", obviously something to do with textures? Anyway thats where it seems to be crashing when reading the map.
See if that maps works okay without the bot installed...

Cheeseh I have some bugs for you. First off I want to tell you what a great job you've been doing. I've been using your bot since the beginning and its great. Now for the bad part. I've notice several problems with your bots, some have been mentioned here and some haven't. The single biggest problem is their inability to use ladders. I even made my own waypoints for maps and it didn't help. They just stand there at the bottom and stare, move around a bit, and stare some more. Now a new problem that I've run into with your latest version is that for some reason some of the bots, not all mind you, will just go comatose. They will just stand there staring. They will shoot badguys but will not move at all. If I give them an order they will respond verbally but still won't move. Now not all of the bot marines are doing this just some, probably about 50%. Very odd as the older versions of your bot that I was running didn't do this. Another problem is that sometimes when I give them a way point that is within sight of them they won't go to it they will just respond with an acknowledgement. Oh they like to get stuck in holes/depressions and just stand there swinging their knife around wildly. I beleive it is ns_bast with the furnaces and the tunnel with the grate on it. Well I was following a marine who stopped on the grate and just started running around in circles swinging his knife. I came back about 10 minutes later and he was still at it. So I shot the grate out thinking that he REALLY wanted in there. Well then he just did the same thing. Very odd. Anyways that's all that I can think of right now. Keep up the good work!

The next version of the bot will support metamod as a plugin (using metamod's plugins.ini) And I will also have a seperate version for the bot on it's own for windows and linux.

the map ns_mystic_rc2 will not work because of some problem with 'rcbot.dll'

you should work on having them drop health and ammo when it's requested, if it's not to much work =\
