I can't imagine how enraging and scarring that would be. I can't imagine being a functional person after something like that.

I would think this example and the many others would only be worse psychologically in the long run.

You can never expect to achive postive outcomes through negative means.
The only "positve" reinforcement here seems to come from those propaganda like tapes.

I can see lots of kids coming out of this deeply distraught or mentaly unstable.

The guy running it is a self admitted college drop out with no proffessional expertise in the field. Hes probably doing more bad then good.

Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happyness people, the 3 most basic of human rights, 66% of which are denied here.

Im surprised one of his former "inmates" hasnt come back armed to the teeth to exact revenge.
Ive known POWs that were treated better.

Forgive me if I sound evil here people If some one shot this guy I wouldnt be feel bad in the least.

Its no wonder he doesnt want media coverage of this place.

uhh no, they would be American rights. They are neither universally excepted, or absolutely true. They are ideals. Like "love thy neighbour", Good message, doesnt make it true.

The thought just struck me: the most ironic part of this is, these people are more than likely going to be your boss later in life. Think about it. They are brutal, follow orders, self-serving, and know when to shut up. That is vice-president of a major corporation material right there. That is, if they can function with all the flash-backs they are gonna be having.

Maaan. Korean POW camps are Disneyland compared to this place.

"Zero trust" is never a good thing to enforce, otherwise you engrane a continual paranoya of the brain. i mean, trust is everything in this world and if you continually count those pennies for the rest of your life, you would have wasted enough time to get several hundred thousand more!

IMO someone should do a REAL story on that place. the first link you provided to us was obvious propaganda produced by "Tranquility" whateverthef---itscalled.

Since the parents sign away 49% of the parentry rights to the kid, they (the parents) are litterally "Throwing them at a stranger's arms" and "Pushing them in the car" sparing the "Jay Kay" fellow the trouble of comming there and kidnapping the poor child... no wait, they already do that!

Yes of course they are ideals, everything comes from an ideal. Notice the word "idea" found in that word. A concept. They just happen to be regared as rights in the country I currently live in so I will refer them as such. And obviously these "ideals" are not universally accepted anywhere, I never said they were. I dont go around pointing out to the Brits for calling a flash light a "torch" or an elevator as a "lift".

Call them whatever you want.

As you say "Love thy neighbor" , Do unto others as you would want done to you, the Golden rule whatever you want to call it, they are a good message as you say. However just because they are many times ignored, or not followed at all, doesnt mean that I will stop to practice them.
I live and think by what I feel is right. I dont go kill people b/c i believe it is wrong. I dont steal from people b/c I think it is wrong etc. I ddint need a law to tell me that.

As I stated before, a quote from Ghandi

You can never expect to achive postive outcomes through negative means.

I wasnt born in the US, nor was I an American citizen, but I admire what some of their original "ideals" stand for. Whether they are carried out presently is for another debate, in a closed forum

Just because they aren't "universally excepted" (which, last time I checked, most civilized countries were sort of following the US's lead there) doesn't mean that they aren't necessary and integral to living a proper life.

Seeing as how this camp has nothing but guards protecting it, I fail to see how it would be hard to manage an escape. Of course, getting out of Jamaica would be a problem, but nothing is impossible, and with how **** off I would be if I was sent to that camp, I wouldn't doubt that I would swim back to American shores on pure adrenaline and anger. All I know is I sure as hell wouldn't be in that camp for more then 1 week.

It's stuff like this that makes me want to enact a law for a screening process to ensure that potential ********** parents will NEVER get the chance to become parents. Parenting is becoming so much harder in present times than possibly any time before in our society with all the damn ugly influences that envelop us, and not to say that the kids aren't to blame, but damn it, what the hell have the parents been doing, if anything at all?

Yet at the same time here in Canada, people are often disgusted with the pitiful sentences handed out to young offenders, and in many situations, I can't blame them...
God, what the hell did we do this planet?

Be fruitful and multiply...

- If I could rewrite the Bible, this is the first and only verse that's coming out of there.

Never having kids... ever.
