Since one way to win is killing all oposition at once that doesn't seem very likely to me. But I agree that defendable spawns would be nice (no long corridor overlooking the entire alien spawn/ no 4 vents going into the marine spawn.

Seperate topic on cloaking: Also I think cloaking is a little too powerful in the game, and I think this would also be true in combat. The change that I would propose to cloack is, 1. Marines have limited decloak ability that costs them something.
Simplest is flashlight decloaks area thats show white. However when a marine has the flashlight on they either move slower or cant move at all.
And I think you should be able to recloak nearly as fast as you do. If a marine shots you or touches you I don't think you should recloak for at least 1 second.
I know its easily opposed with scan sweeps in standard, and possible in this new combat, but you can't spare those (or get your comms attention) every time you need to check a room or fight in an area.
I offically appologize if I shouldn't derail the thread like this.
To continue on this track: there seem to be a scanner-sweep and Motion Tracking upgrade for the marines that should allow them to cope with cloakers, but I agree that it will probably be a dominant factor in the game.

Cloaking isn't actually that bad in combat. There's enough bullets flying around all over the place that you get hit by random cross fire alot. Cloaking only really helps 1v1 and there isn't a ton of that in NS:C. There's enough to make it totally viable, but it's not overpowering.
And, incase nobody has mentioned it, your health, armor, and base speed rise with each level. So a level 10 fully upgraded skulk is absolutely insane. I've also seen HA out-run a Light Marine too.

I figure aliens can run back to the hive anyway. So /kill wouldnt be as useful.

I suppose then u could do mass /kill with the healthiest man to stay alive then do distress beacon, would be better than buying a med/ammo/welder. Spose thats why beacon is at the end of the tech tree.
