Monse: re Dark Angels logo: <img src="http://bergmann.free.fr/banniere/darkban.jpg" border="0"> The first banner in the pic depicts the standard 'Dark Angels' logo design - a winged sword.
Yeah, I've never seen those Dark Angel logos before. There is no art in NS that has been knowingly taken from other sources.
There are some similarities between the TSA logo and the Dark Angel one, mainly in the fact that both logos feature wings and weapons. But through out history there seems to be a widespread use of wings as symbols in military iconography, for whatever reason. I was just going for a logo which captured that military feeling.
And I would bet that the Dark Angel logo was probably influenced by other sources, as well.
as always the piccies and the vid look spinkee , and yeah i sadly recognised the dark angel symbol from my gw dasys of many moons ago D: , but still looks nice <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
I wish that people would try to think a little bit about how it makes an artist feel to be falsely accused of plagiarism. It serves absolutely no purpose, and only makes me not want to show anything else off before release. I suggest dropping this.
Oh, and these are all insignia and patches from the US Airforce, circa 1950. I guess they should sue the makers of Warhammer 40K for stealing their materials 30 years later right?
Let us worry about things like that. The similarities are coincidental, and obviously not direct copies. Saying things like this just gets users all worked up over things that can't understand, and makes Cory feel like crap. We are no more in danger of copyright infringement with GDW then they are with the Strategic Air Command.
Hi there after following the process of this mod for over half a year now and i finally found time to register to your forum.
First: a big wow to the team for their really really cool work best i have ever seen in mod biz <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
Second: The wings with the sword in it are mainly used for paratroopers around the world expressing that they are on the jump to bring death to their foes (or something like that) ... Dark Angels are after definition of Games Workshop jump troopers. Alright, I'm confused was the Power armor a place holder for the Heavy armor or are they separate things that will be in the game? If they are separate things which is higher on the tech tree?
Actually, I don't think heavy armor will be at the top of the tech tree, and I'm not sure if power armor will stay in or not. The heavy armor isn't in the game yet, I'm still thinking of the best way to do it.
this is why I added a line to my sig <!--emo&:(--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('><!--endemo-->

Kick-arse... heavy armor... now I can stomp around shouting "FOR THE EMPEROR!" at the top of my voice while toting every single weapon in the game. Sure, I'd walk around 3 feet per 5 seconds, but I'd be a tank!... I think. Well, okay, I'd get owned by every Level 1 that ran to me, but still!
The "For the emperor!" part I added, because the armor reminds me of a Space Marine in Power armor....
Gorgeous as always. Now stop making us drool. As it is my next load of laundry will be 90% towels. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->
Oy. I think we should lay off the plagiarism thing, a lot of stuff has just been done somewhere by someone and then one of the guys here came up with the same idea. How original is a winged sword? Not unique, that's for sure. Also, most people have a similar perception of what space marine armour would look like.
I didn't bother reading through this whole thing but I have seen a couple of people saying things about dark angels insignia.
Monse the Dark angels inignia looks like this <img src="http://fortressofunforgiven.homestead.com/files/Web_Icon_K_Button_75pxl.gif" border="0">
For some reason no one seems to know what the TSA logo looks like, it is not just a sword with wings like the Dark Angels one, as I said before maybe it should go on the site somewhere.
For those people who are saying this looks like WH40K, I'd just like to say that there aren't that many different looks you can give a futuristic soldier in armor, and I think this model is unique enough, and fits the NS theme.

I mean, it wasn't the same, it was different anyway, I apologize if it came across as cruel in any way. May I repost it?
so it is higher than power armor.
Also, as stated, power armor is automatically given to all marines. Heavy armor is not, therefore power armor is not a placeholder for heavy armor.
