In Starcraft, if one of my Marines is parasited or something, I'll send him and a small group of attackers to the side of an enemy base to throw them off, then bring up my main force at the other side.

Secondly, don't EVER, EVER go around talking about redeemed assaisins doing wrong. They brought us a mod that took the HL engine far beyond its limits, and it was fun as hell. Just because now they want to go up to the UT2k3 engine doesn't make them bad... I look forward to their upcoming new version.

What do you mean, "did you win"? And I QUOTE!
"The battle was over. The alien advanced had been halted. My marines congratulated each other, dusted themselves off, and headed back to base, ready for their next assignment."
Of course we won. But the war between humanity and Xenoform is far from over... Enlist today, and do your part to keep the Future safe!!!!!!!

Ohnos point of view would suck! "So I charged down the hall way and trampled about 5 or 6 marines on the way, you know who really counts? Made it into thier base and ravaged all thier turrets while talking on the phone and finishing my dinner, went AFK for a minute to use the restroom, came back and finished off thier base at my discretion."
How about the time 5 marines welded an Onos to death in a cramped hallway? That was fun

I was a Gorge (builder) on Nancy, and our third hive had just come online. As my team evolved in preparation to assault the marine base, I decided to head there in advance and set up a forward healing station - defensive chambers and turrets to allow my teammates to heal up without returning all the way to a hive.
I decided to set up some "containment" measures on the way to the base - a turret or two just around a corner, with some webs to catch the marines as they came into the turrets LOS. Well, I set up a pair of webs fairly low to the ground, when suddenly I heard the approaching "clink, clink" of a marine. I stopped immediately and cloaked just before the marine came into the room. I knew he'd heard either the webs going up or my cloaking, but I also knew he didn't know where I was (with level 3 cloaking, I was completely invisible).
He stood on the far side of the webs for a good 5-10 seconds, scanning the room, waiting for the attack. Finally he decided I'd either left or (possibly) that I was a builder and didn't want a confrontation any more than he did. And with webs in the room, if we started running around the advantage would probably be mine. So he jumped the webs and continued down the corridor.
I immediately threw up a third web, at chest-level above the first two, then ran around the corner away from the marine and recloaked. Sure enough, he came back at the sounds of my webbing, or perhaps had been called back to base. But now there was a third web, and no way to get through them without hitting at least one. So to my delight, I heard the wet sound of a marine connecting with webbing. I promptly fired 4 babblers into the room and followed them in, simply to watch as they tore into the helpless marine.
As he fell to the floor, I let out a low chuckle, still standing where I'd been, watching. (:<

Again, sweet story. That one got e-mailed out to a few friends.

Great stuff coil, both your epic commander story and your small skimish were very enlightening. They both show just how different the teams are as marines seem to have a few well defended bases whereas the aliens spread out through the map so the marines have to fight their way everywhere as the aliens own the place and the aliens have to attack the invading scum . I didnt know that marines could hear you cloak, interesting... so you cant just disappear around a corner, cloak and then make the marines think youd run off. Can all alien actions be heard or can some of them be done in secret? Do certain buildings or turrets make a noise too? Oh do you mind if I post those 2 stories in a forum Im pimping on?
That was me, coil... Yeah, I knew you were there, cloaked somewhere. I saw a mine on the ground, thought that it was a proximity, and hoped you'd set it off. Turned out it was a dropped weapon. Ah well...

Aliens can wander through all the webs they want without penatly. And yes, when you shoot or move (webs included), you unloak usually.
Chapel: No you couldn't. You wanna try coding a mod that breaks half of the known rules and limitations of the Half-Life engine, you go right ahead, but Nighthawk is a professional and you're just some egotistical kid who probably can't even spell C++.
And um... post some stories because I'm tired of pressing f5 on readyroom.org
Another quick question: Does a bullet count as geometry? If I tried to blink to the airlock but I went through someones bullet, would that take me out of blink?

Really this is gonna be a lot deeper and more complex then "Go kill the other team" And I can't explain how much I love that.
I just hope this mod is in it for the long run, unlike lousy Redeemed Assasins!!!

Well Parox doesn't seem anywhere near launch and and and WAAAAAAHHHH
RA are meanies, then again I always found HL never really was the game to use for a mod like that.
