Blood kelp atmosphere is the worst. The devs are nice enough to only use the moderately scary hostiles in there, but the second worst (lost river) isn't so polite about the hostiles.

Your base is just a little flooded, it's still good it's still good!
On a serious note: have you tried leaving the area and coming back? It looks like the base didn't fully load. That or deconstruct and reconstruct. These issues are kinda comm… -
I made an outpost/minibase at the base of the inactive Lava zone simply because I wanted a close place to recharge batteries and craft items for my PRAWN. I figured it was the perfect place to get the late-game mats, make a few extra batteries (Hate…

Just after the Lost River and before the inactive Lava Zone is an awesome location that you can put down 6 Thermal Reactors and it'll power 2 Water filtration systems, scanner room and a moon pool plus other basic necessities (fabricator, battery ch…

I'll make 6, or 60... As long as every area of the damn thing is protected against those bastards.

(Quote) Wait they work on those little bastards?!

Four slots makes most of the upgrades useless and that is the issue. If the devs want people to customize and try out different upgrades then having additional slots would benefit from it.

(Quote) Maybe have them die or just not be able to latch for a minute afterward?
Either way this would make life MUCH easier to deal with. -
You could always disassemble the base. But yeah, most of them are pretty easy in and out with a few trips to the seamoth.
-
Another question: Has anyone ever created a single pipe room, 1 solar panel and then attached a base pump to it in order to explore a wreck? Is that something worthwhile or a HUGE waste of inventory space?
-
(Quote) You mean like grouping and hiding or expanding the group?

If there was more location information on the Ion stashes then sure. Otherwise: maybe upgrade the cost to use things like Plasteel, Mercury, Nickel or Kyanite? I figure give those items a little more value and use.

(Quote) Anyone else find the scanner room to be severely limited underground? I was hoping to use it to help map the way but even at max range the visibility is super limited.
Also: Cameras have like a 350m range before getting super distor… -

On the upside: you have location of the lifepods when you need them.
Downside: it will clutter your ping management UI. And that clutter is already full of manual beacons, lifepod5, the pings you want to keep, and your vehicles.

They drain the SHIT out of Ion cells. A few of 'em (3-4) will give you noticeable power drain on Ion cells at medium speed. 8-15 will cause the power to drop faster than a wedding dress after the reception and it doesn't take very long to acquire 8-…

(Quote) The seamoth does have an issue of popping out of the water and stalling, but I agree with you. Also: Reapers, Bonesharks, CrabSquid, Sandsharks, and odd things popping into existence doesn't happen on the surface.

Does it die like a Reaper to the Stasis rifle and thermal blade?

More on what DrownedOut said: watch out for floating boxes. If you see boxes floating GET AWAY. The wreck will soon spawn and whatever you're traveling in will be stuck inside it. The wiki also isn't 100% accurate on item placements. Some things hav…

Yeah, that looks like the color scheme and naming part of the Cyclops.
Serious question: When they spawn crashfish will the fish inside break the containment? -
(Quote) Might be bad if you reload a game where you're 600m down.
-
I got the game because of a Youtube series, as well, but they've actually made a really awesome story around the survivor being in contact with the corporation and getting real-time help.
-
It may have been a one-off glitch. Maybe I jumped to the cyclops too fast for the animation? I'll have to reload and see. (hopefully I didn't lose too much)

Wait, what? When did they remove the Boneshark and Lava Lizard's attack on the Cyclops? I just spent part of today getting in and out of the damn thing to stab 'em to death! -
(Quote) I always keep a spare power cell just in case. Also: the little guy can go anywhere (excluding past 900m depth) on 30% charge and make it back to base. I would say the Solar charger would be much better if you used it in conjunction with …

True, maybe Sandsharks? They're cuddlier, less painful on the bite and might actually survive the trip. (Bonesharks are weak--they die quick) -
Really? Damn, I guess I'm late to this party.

Stable. 50032
Yeah, I walked under the Cyclops and jumped. It wasn't too far up and I think I clipped the edge a little but that happened. -
(Quote) On the other hand: Bringing some of these fish home would be excellent for creature studies by scientists. Maybe preserving a few ampeels, lava lizards, bone sharks and reefbacks for mating and studies. Oh and Reginalds. Those fish rock.

I know, WTF? I wanna watch reapers squirm helplessly against 40 floaters!
